What is the proper way to measure the difference in height from the front and rear. Want to lift just trying to figure out how much I need to level it. Have a 2015 4x4 Double Cab Long Bed with 4 leaf pack. Most will say Bilstein's up front with stock coils at 1.75 will level it out. But I was thinking of the all in one Rancho Quicklift for the front. But think it might leave me nose high

i put it on a level garage floor and go from center of hub to bottom of fender. if you go from the ground, you might be inaccurate because of differences in the tires. if you want to be even more accurate, put a piece of painters tape on the fender and use a plumb bob to find level from the center of hub, and just put a mark on the blue tape where the string crosses it. measure from center of hub to your mark. hope that makes sense.

Just park on a nice level surface and measure from the ground to the fender directly above the hub of each wheel. No need for plumb bobs, laser levels or anything crazy. Keep it simple

Was thinking of measuring from the middle of the Toyota emblem on the center cap

some people like to be as accurate as possible, my OCD insists on it. you will be fine by measuring from the center of the emblem on the center cap. just be sure you are parked on flat ground.

Why the center of the rim? As long as you don't have a flat tire then it makes no difference. Don't you rotate your tires? Don't you put gas in your truck? Your not adjusting coilovers and dialing in ride height, just getting a base measurement to decide which struts/springs to order.

Because of the weight in the front compared to the back. I would imagine that would be why nobody would do it from the ground up.

if the pressures are different, the measurement will be different. again, 1/8" is not going to matter much but for baseline measures it's good to have an accurate reading to plan the build. if he's trying to dial in coilovers, i could see how 1/8" or even a 16th might matter. YMMV

What? The weight doesn't change if you measure from the ground or the center. All you are doing is comparing front measurement to back. I would bet money it's more accurate from the ground. The tire sticks out farther then the center of your wheel so your eyeballing the center and adding more room for error. Look up threads, almost everyone measures from the ground, not the center of the wheel.
