Remains to be seen I bought the tires and wheels the rest came along
I really have to wonder how you can drive a Truck that old?

I would be worried about all kinds of mechanical failure

I work in a field with individuals experiencing challenges with severely rigid thought processing and unless I'm wrong, OP is not joking. If he is, let me step aside. If not, anyone making him feel like there's any reason to have to do anything other than smooth out the marred area should choose how they speak to him carefully.

I work in the diving industry where every piece of equipment is considered life support. This is my background and the way I think. I've explained my reasoning previously of why this defect would matter to me. If others wish to be outright flippant and claim somehow I am mental because I worry about a component on my truck I contend this reveals an aspect of their character.

    cheers

Huge lack of awareness then if you don't like rigidity of approach to information - a piece of dive gear and a piece of well over engineered land vehicle are borne of different functions and design constraints. A human isn't carrying a truck.

The point here, one you should seriously introspect, is that you are attacking me for asking a question. Attacking me for even considering the question in fact. This is a huge reveal on your part. The way I was raised: No such thing as a stupid question.. Just stupid answers. ;-)

Dude I was giving you information based on personal experience and not going after you. A bunch of people were trolling and making fun of you. You seem to have been completely oblivious to this.

Proof of concept is you made this thread thinking you were speaking from a logical and experienced pov.

No I appreciated peoples factual input and opinions but I am speaking to the people that think they are trolling me, even though they are really trolling themselves when I say "The point here, one you should seriously introspect, is that you are attacking me for asking a question. Attacking me for even considering the question in fact. This is a huge reveal on your part. The way I was raised: No such thing as a stupid question.. Just stupid answers. ;-)"

My dude, people are pointing out that the question itself was naïve, but the issue is that you disregarded people who told you that your hypothesis is / was wrong. The first guy to tell you is a mechanic in Canada.

Do you see the conflict. Of course my question was naïve. Anyone asking a question is inherently naïve to the answer. That's the very point in asking the question. critiquing someone for asking a question is lower than being naïve to the question being asked. But that's my opinion.

I learned a few things which I appreciated. I also learned a few things about the types of people that use this site now and how unconstructive it became. Somehow trolling became a thing on what should be an evidence based brass tacks type of forum. Sorta weird but OK. That's the times we are in apparently. I've been a member for 10 years +, On my fourth Toyota rig which I love. Don't remember it being like that before.

In short you're passive and / or overtly aggressive to people who aren't telling you what you want to hear. This is the component that makes these threads become grumpy.

OP, your truck is perfectly solid enough to continue to carry the weight of Toyota’s reputation. Something the 3rd gen thanks you for. :D

You just don't like how I pushed back against someone who I felt was being hostile and flippant to my question. I get it. It was my thread, I think I have a right to push back a bit.. Didn't that user delete his post anyway?? And if you look, No I don't think I said anything rude or crass. I think you might be reading into things to much here... I stand by all my words.

Generalizing that because I disagree with you on something is because of dislike - this is my case in point - debating is possible without judgement. No worries my man.
