Wow. That's all the more reason not to screw it up then. OP, leave your diff alone. It's better how it is.

I have a manual in my 18 cavalry blue pro too. Is there a list posted for every year? I bet taking color into account makes them even more rare.

As things stand right now, you would have to lose the locker to get a Torsen or clutch pack type LSD in there. Last I looked, there was not much out there for the Taco 8.75". There is a smattering of traction devices for the 8.75/220mm version of this diff for the old TT MKIV Supra, but they will need to spec'd with different side gears for the smaller 32 spline Taco axle shafts, and possibly a different offset for the carrier. Not terribly difficult changes for a manufacturer of a existing/well developed application.

Not here it isn't. Toyota may only make 10% of pros as manuals*, but 90% of the owners are here it seems.

    * No idea on actual figures, just an example.

It's just like when someone comes here saying they ordered a special trim level. No they didn't.

It would take an enthusiast to buy a truck like that with a manual. So it stands to reason that we'd all be here.

i want the same as the OP. reason the locker is only for off road which i do not do. a LSD is full 2WD on the highway.
just like the 456 posi traction i put in my 59 348 Chevy when i was a 20, smoked both rear tires.

You know, I may be mistaken. It may have been 240 for that year with 80 in each color. I can't remember

This is the extent of it.

I imagine you would have to be getting pretty technical for 4lo and ATRAC not to work for you with the MT. 4Lo gearing will keep you from rolling back or roasting the clutch on anything that doesn't also come with the risk of body damage. If you havent tried 4Lo, get out an do it, should get rid of most concerns.

I’m a big fan of TrueTrac LSDs. They are virtually indestructible; they are great on the trail for anything but the most extreme off-roading, and if you have to cover great distances in winter conditions an LSD actually works better than a locker.

Having said that, I wouldn’t swap the locker out of a Pro for a TrueTrac. That’d be a waste.
