I think I’m set on a Smittybilt with a synthetic line.

 

Radio silent over here for some time, I know.
The girls have gotten me back into rock climbing. Which is pretty awesome.
I finally slept in the Taco. It was just a power nap after a shift, but it counts.
Now I want to start modifying the bed and plan trips out to all my old climbing spots.
New River, here we come...soon...ish?

 

Maybe late to the party, but I have the Apex 12k from HF and it works great. Made 3 rescues in one day no problem. Draws a lot of amperage, so I'm thinking of doing the Big 3 upgrade. Control box is stupidly large though. Repackaging mine into something smaller.
It's also super simple to wire up. I did so on the trail

 

I think I finally decided on the Smittybilt X20 10k with the synthetic line. The HF ones are tempting though, I hate going into that store. I always walk out with a dozen things I didn't need and forget to buy what I actually went in there for in the first place.

 

I got it on coupon for like 90 off so we jumped on it. Plus the video of the guy winching his 4R into the air with it pretty much sold me on it.

 

Santa come through this year, big time.

Cant wait to install this monster

 

Wife got me a nice little upgrade for the workshop for my birthday. We even had a mini date and stopped by the brewery to load up on stout growlers and cider growlers.

As a nice little bonus, I found all my missing 10mm sockets!

 

Got up early and got some shit done.

Smittybilt 10k is installed! Relocated the control box to one of the bumper supports, and clocked the winch so the clutch handle is forward.
Only thing left to do is pre load the line.

 

Completely forgot to upload this one. Wife got me the @mattgecko bed light set.
Now I can see what I’m doing! Super easy install too.

Thanks to the Skinny On Skinny Tires thread I think I’m sold on the 255/85

on another note - after the bumper, winch and skid plates the truck only settled half an inch lower.
