    When you create a new post in a thread, that thread is moved to the top of the list on the home page (and in whatever section it resides). So, your post 'bumps' the thread to the top. This is why you see people saying "Bump" or "BTT" (Bump to the Top) or "TTT" (To the Top).

    Most posts won't contain the word bump, as they are simple replies to the thread in question. On Tacomaworld, at least, you usally find them in the Buy Sell Trade section when buyers/sellers are trying to move their threads to the top of the home screen for added visibility.
