SHE LIVES AGAIN!!! Though my wallet hurts alot I am happy that I have the truck back and also have some peace of mind on the whole brakes thing... :) Gotta try and see the bright side on the whole situation

I only have 91 in here and need to fill up with some 93 oct, but I can say with confidence that the truck REAAAALLLY likes the altitude here. :burnrubber:

Happy to hear she is back in action. This truck is way to sexy to be sitting in a garage

At least you got it back, and all is well. Feels good and drives good. It is quite the good feeling when the problems have been over come.

    Are you still in CO?

And like Mizzac said, do some BURNOUTS!!!! It will help seat in those new drums. ;)

Thanks! I sure wish I had a garage for it to sit in at night...

The truck broke down in CO, but I am in Overland Park, KS just south of KC. I'll be here for another 5 weeks and then will be back down in Ft Worth for pretty much the entire month of September.

What y-pipe are you running Colton? I made my own high clearance one a couple of years ago, and finally destroyed it wheeling the other week. cracked it near a weld and crimped it down to half diamiter in a spot or two. leaks everywhere now, sounds like junk, and i'm sure is killing what little power i have left with these heavy tires and brik-like aerodynamics. shopping around on the URD side and wondering what your take is.

you still in town BTW? Theres a free Billy Currington concert down at Power and Light tonight!

Hey Colin! I'm running the stock Y Pipe with the cats cut out currently. I am looking to get the URD one eventually, but just havent gotten around to it yet. With my hanger popping off just a couple days ago I am beginning to think that I need to completely redo my exhaust anyway.

I think that the URD one is a good kit and from what I have seen it clearances well. That being said I haven't gotten my hands on one in person. I have heard good things from torspd about it and would likely have a v flange welded onto mine to open it up to a full 3" going back.

I'm in town until next Sat. I really want to go watch him sing Hey Girl live, but I unfortunately have to be on the yard at 0500 tomorrow. I could swing it, but I don't think I really wanna run on 4 hours of sleep or less.

Thanks, I'll have to give Gadget a call. to my knowledge, the urd pipe will clear my skid plates. my other worry is getting rid of the rear cats. a number of the places i could move for work have yearly emmissions inspections, and no cats means no pass.

we'll have to grab some beers again before you head out.

I honestly haven't heard the best things about it, but the Thorley Pipe Bomb has cats in it. Why would you remove the cats in the first place if you have room to clearance them? The last thing your truck needs is a decrease in back pressure :p

If it is something that might become an issue I would just run with cats as it definitely won't decrease your performance. I am getting around the issue by continuing to register my truck in MT for just about ever lol. And we definitely should go out again. I might even head to P&L tomorrow or Saturday if you're interested.

Pipe bombs don't have cats. They have small straight through resonators.

Be nice if they did. That would be ideal for those that want to keep the cats with long tubes.

yeah, that was my concern. i think the pipe bomb goes for somewhere around 300-350, and at that price, i just figured they were resonators, so i didn't look much into it.

i'll just have to get on the phone with gadget and get his recommendation for the situation. this would all be so much easier if i had my welder here :pout:

No Cels will be created for the URD Y-pipe. And you can still pass emissions with the URD Y-Pipe, as long as you still have your cats in the headers.

Pipe bomb will in short time, rust like crazy! Unless you spend the money to get it ceramic coated. At that point, you would be better off buying the URD Y, which is 304 SS. Plus it routes away from the rear of the trans/transfercase. And it picks up a good deal of power, as an added bonus. :D
