Dude... I know. I pretty much just drive the car every day I am off. I run down a dirt road to go to work so the truck gets driven at least a few days a week. All I gotta do is make a boosted pull and she pretty much just reels me back in. the only thing that always weighs on me in the back of my mind is the maintenance. Then I get to thinking that a new truck payment is gonna cost me in 4-5 months of payments what a major mechanical issue on my truck would cost. Atop that I wouldn't have any money left over for mods!

exactly! the reality of having a truck with a low/no payment even WITH maintenance, especially WITH mods, is better than a fresh start/peace of mind. IDK when my outlook changed, but you know I was in that same boat. I really think using it more (and modding it more/dumping more money into it) sealed the deal. its more than just a truck a that point. I love the truck, the styling, the performance, everything. So what if it has high mileage or has some scratches here or there. If the motor pops, engine swap time!.. and it wouldnt bother me one bit, because I know the bones and everything else about it is good and meets my standards. It gets used doing what I like doing, its a tool, that I pride myself on, and I know wont fail me. Plus.. if it does, its relatively cheap and easy, not to mention we know our way around these trucks very well by now.

come on winter so you can park that lame Bowtie! :p

They hate us cause they anus! Yeah we are following a very similar path. I think that my next moves now will be looking into the Kings all around and get my suspension shored up. Followed by a 12+ front end conversion to include some glass (especially since there was no SWB available after the refresh) and I of course need a new headlight build!

    <3 lol

those will be some nice upgrades for sure! the front end conversion... im on the fence about. they arent bad looking, but our style is by far my favorite. but would look cool to have SWB in a 12+.

and yes on headlights! Doing mine in a month or so as well.

You know me... She'll have my own special touch. Regardless of whether or not I do a conversion.

My payments are like two from done. So stoked. My new work truck is a '17 ram with the 5.7... it's nice but I'd rather drive my taco still.

    Tonight's update -

Confirmed that BOTH upper ball joints are bad! I knew that one was going, but was having some other sounds going on and tracked my way there.

While I was there I snuck under the truck... Thinking to get a new carrier and possibly the Beefed Taco CB mount to hopefully eliminate some vibes.

get the IEDLS one! Poly CB. I've been running it for almost a year with zero issues and great results. Fab up a little top plate to lock the bearing in, and you're done. I've put it through its paces and its held up. I think I have some pics when I did it.

I called them about it. Not super keen on paying 125 bucks for a carrier bearing... That said I havent done any price checking on a standard replacement.

Depends on scenario out here on location. Planning on leaving here around 12 or 1AM. Either go back to hotel to sleep until 5 then start driving down, or leave right from here. What time you gonna be back? Need to get to Denver around 5ish.

Lets swap trucks. You can have the work truck and come visit in Denver and I will take the yota and give it some proper loving. Plus I need boosted motivation to buy something.
