Members with a line through their name?

Currently in a place with lots of downtime.

Searching the forums and found members with a blue line through their names that don't appear to be banned.

Have seen this with a few moderators, but now also common folk.

Any significance, or just something the cool kids are doing?

Pretty sure it's not something a member can do on their own without staff support.

Just curious.

Not sure about the strike-through, but I have seen it also. Occasionally, the Mod's don't post up in the Memorial thread for some reason.

 

Nope, still active as fast as I can tell.

I know, but these guys don't appear to be in time out.

Not posting screen shots of their names because that is not the point.

Pretty sure means they were banned but account is still “active” So they can eventually be unbanned and participate again?

Never understood being banned though, you can always just make another account easily

It means they've been banned. Now and again it also means it's the mods goofing with someone's name that they know. Like an inside joke.

 

There are ways to edit the html code to get the look you’re talking about. My brother was a moderator for another enthusiast site and could do all kinds of crazy things with his font and user name. Site looked just like TW. I think you need certain level of privileges to do this though.

Other color line - mod tomfoolery

Several mods have a blue line for the obvious, thin blue line showing support for LEO. I think someone might have a thin red line, also.. for first responders.

 

@boynoyce You have good reason to be concerned since you profile pic lacks the green light in upper left corner.

 

Making a 'dupe' account is most certainly frowned upon. If you read through the 'Banned Member Memorial' thread you'll see some members banned for 'dupe' accounts.

 

That just means the member has turned off the option to show that he’s currently logged in and active.

 

Forum software can scan for IPs and pull up all accounts associated to it. You’re right! And it’s easy to find out who is up to what.

That’s a separate option you can also turn off, in settings.
