    You weren't lied to. There is quite a bit of desert. All of these areas we visited are considered desert. But it is different from the stereotypical, desert southwest image most people have. Plus, it is spring time and we caught it at it's greenest.

    Either way, there is a lot to see and do in the area and worth checking out, regardless of the time of year.

    My van has an isotherm fridge/freezer in it already but I still carry a grizzly cooler for drinks before they go in the fridge. My old setup in the Tacoma was a white Coleman cooler that worked just fine for years.

    I've done a mod or two
    I take a COHO rotomolded cooler I got at Costco for most trips, it does super well. But I also have a pelican one for trips where it'll be super hot. Lately I've needed less cold storage and been thinking about trying to cut some of that weight out.
