Yes, it needs to be somewhat basic line art, not too fine details so similar to what's already been posted. The dimensions won't be larger than 4x4" so that's why the details can't be too fine or the embroidery machines won't be able to make them. Sticking to between 6-9 colors is good too but more can be used, it just starts getting more expensive.

So no photos, photoshopped raster/bitmapped images (like with gradients), etc., and not too large. Vector graphic format is always the best for the file type.

Ooh, so, would I be able to use a program like GIMP to do this? I've already started working on an image, but not sure if this is the right direction.

Sort of. GIMP is a raster based photo editor. You could do something in it as long as the edges on everything are really "crisp". I've seen factories use jpegs but that's not ideal. High resolution is key here if that's the way you're going.

Alright, I've been working on this. Unfortunately its 8 colors at the moment. Let me know what y'all think, and be super critical on it, it NEEDS to be good.

Here is a wild and whacky idea. This is based on what I’ve gathered mixed with my idea. I remember in regards of cost someone related that it should be kept as low as possible. Yet others may want to be more generous. There have been some awesome renditions of what these patches may be and look like as a final product. Personally, I think there is no way to pick just one. So my idea would be to have 3-4 maybe up to 6 different patches to choose from……or buy one of each. They could be different prices to account for those who may not be able to pitch in as much yet please the people that can do more. Please don’t be offended if someone has already mentioned something like this. I also don’t know all that goes into each patch and the work behind it. I’ve been at work and haven’t been able to read each response in this thread accurately.

I think you've managed to capture all the key parts of his build while keeping it as simple as can be, the only thing I think that would be problematic are the red and orange up on the front fender but you can't really go too much bigger than that. Maybe work in some text underneath? Otherwise I think you hit the nail on the head

Front and Rear Locked, 35’s, Chevy 63” swap, Fox Suspension and a bunch of other shit too long to list.
The first one with some Glow threads for the white would look pretty sweet.

Yeah, color on the front fender can't be changed too much. Text wise, I can put whatever people want to see more, that's easy enough.
    Fair enough.

On another note, I can always to a 3/4 shot version aka this one if anyone would prefer that:
