Not for me, I can just see trying to mod an an M/B truck. Even If you could find readily available offroad parts, they will most likely break the bank.
But it will look gorgeous at the shopping center parking lot.

If it made it to the US I would consider one (depending on price). I'd buy the "Street" version and keep the taco to go play in.

The G-Wagon is AWD with three locking diffs and it's one of the most capable production vehicles available.

But if Lexus would make one, that's a different story. They would prob interchange a lot of Taco stuff and it would have all the gadgets they won't won't put on the Taco, like bird eye view for offroad and intelligent MTS.

Can't see it being any less than 90-100k.

What do you think it is? the A45 AMG made in competition of the Golf R? which was still about 10K more than its competition. so around 60k
Its a merc and supposed to be an off road vehicle with luxury.
What do you think the G class is? Was designed as an off road vehicle, why do you think it comes with portal axles?
But who the hell is going to wheel a 130k SUV?

Sporting front and rear lockers? 6.3L AMG tuned engine and probably beefed up suspension. You really think you'll be getting that for under 90k?
Look at all the luxury vehicles out there that are designed as off road vehicles. Land Rovers, merc g class, lamborghini LM002 even the porsche cayenne. All the companies advertise them as luxury and off road vehicles yet all of which are just mall crawlers and all 90k+

portal axles from factory? G class was originally an off road vehicles. I think at one point they were even used for military and police work.

Why is it going to be over 100k? The least expensive behicle you can buy new from mbusa wearing a 3point star is a utility van... would a truck not be priced similar? Or are we assuming since the g wagon 6 wheel truck is a half mil?

 

Ppl have offroad on M/B for years all over the world, where they make all kinds of models, but in the US, not so much. It's mainly known as a luxury vehicle maker and introducing a new pickup model would be an interesting market. I actually wish they would as Lexus would prob be right behind.

what off road vehicle is cheap from factory? and this is a merc with a AMG engine.

 

its even says in the video LUXURY vehicle. its not going to be cheap like a sprinter.

but really with 22inch wheels what type of off road rig is that lol.
Its like when the porsche came out they said you can go off road with it yet it comes with such massive brakes you can't put a smaller rim and the rims that do fit make it where you can't put a good tire on it.

All these luxury off road vehicles are just for rich lawyers and stock brokers that think they're a badass and qualify driving on the grass at their kids soccer game as off roading.
