Rack is done! Now just waiting on my lights so I can mock them up before I powder coat it. I ordered some Quicksand powdercoat samples to see if anything is a good match.

On the fence about what color to paint it.
    Thoughts????

Gloss black would match my bumpers and blend in well stealth

On the other hand, quicksand would really contrast with the black roof, and flow with the truck color looking at it from the side...

Here you can see how much it's curved in order to match the roof body lines

I like the QS color idea if it can match up well. Otherwise I would go with gloss black. Or even qs for the sides and black for the cross bars.
Edit, just saw it's all welded together do the two color would be next to impossible. Lol

Yeah, this ain't modular like other brands. I wanted to eliminate any screws/bolts from the outside

Well you could have added bent tabs the inside of the rails and then mounted aluminum bars to them. It would be modular but still no exposed screws on the outside.

Freaking basd ass. Can't wait to see the finished product. I agree, the QS on the black roof would be very unique. I might even go as far as taking the lights apart and doing the housings in QS. And run all black wire looms, but keep them uniform and clean, yet exposed.

True. But I don't really Plan on changing up the configuration much. Set it up once and go. Plus I'm a lazy designer:p

Thanks! Yes, the light bezels will get painted color matched for sure. Hiding the wire will be a little challenging, but im game.

I like it a lot, it will look even better painted and loaded up. What are your plans for attaching things to the cross rails?

I haven't got there yet.. but I'm thinking about installing flush rivnuts ~12" spacing apart. Threaded for whatever I want; D rings, rotopack mount, maxxtraxx mount, etc. Then rubber plugs on the ones not in use to keep moisture out.

This is where extruded/slotted Al bar would have been more beneficial, oh well. Any better ideas I'm all ears.

Could always add t tracks to the bars. I mean the easiest would be to take out the bars and use aluminum t slot bars like prinsu, but a low profile track system could work and just be attached to the tops of the crossbars.

Hey I really like the black rhino wheels you have. I am trying to find them and only find ones that look really deep and not flush like yours. Can you tell me where you got them and the exact style. Thanks so much. Brian

So nice to have a place to see all the mods on your truck. Looks amazing and love the mods you do and design. Your truck is truly one of a kind!

    Gracias amigo.

So I'm retrofitting my overhead console now..
I really want a sun glass holder but the stupid crawl control is there, So I am designing a dash bezel to relocate the crawl assembly down by my left knee.
Also, In the spirit of blacked out everything.. I whipped up some snap in dome lens replacements that will hold a flush mount smoked round LED. I like this better than the ugly clear stock lens.

I will still do my custom LCD touch panel for switches..but I needed something now. A new 6-switch prototype panel fits perfect. Now I'll make a legit one and color match. Nobody will ever know:)
