Like everyone else that looks through tacomaworld.com, I see a lot of references to MESO Customs products. I'm sure that also like most people I've found several products, I'd be interested in purchasing from them. In the two years I've owned my MGM Tacoma, I've never seen a product I want that isn't listed as SOLD OUT. Currently, out of the 42 items listed on their website, 30 are shown as SOLD OUT.
At first I was blown away by this and thought that the products must be amazing and everyone trusted and wanted the products if they couldn't keep things in stock. After this long however, I've never seen some of these items available and come back as in stock and available. I've even considered that they ship their products to their resellers before updating own website, so I've hunted numerous sites to find things I want to no avail.
What makes things more frustrating is that several of the products that are "available" are then shown as SOLD OUT when I try to purchase the MGM color of the product. I think it's time to start ruling out MESO Customs as a possible vendor if they don't intend on having items in stock for years at a time.
The one set of items that particularly irritates me as being SOLD OUT is the interior trim kits. Yes, there are some options available for this, but not the colors that I've been waiting for. I could get black pieces I suppose, but I'm not looking to black out everything, just remove some fake chrome. If I'm looking to get vent rings that match the knobs, shifter and cup holder I may as well forget waiting for MGM to be available. Sure, as I said I could go all black, or maybe even find the Cement color that is grey from time to time on other sites. Do I really want to remove the chrome to introduce another color to the gambit of black, silver and brown of the interior if it doesn't match the exterior? Not really in my opinion.
Does anyone know of a MESO Customs alternative for removing the chrome from the vents, push start, 4x4, cupholder, shifter and door handles that is the color MGM (Magnetic Grey Metallic) or even possibly something that matches the color of the climate control knobs?
I've done a little plasti-dip on the exterior with a smoke color over the chrome and like it as it seems to tone things down, but the 5-6+ coats to get a consistent color is a tedious process and would leave my Taco apart for days in the process. I would really prefer to just replace the parts and call it done.
I've even tried writing to MESO for other items expected availability, such as the mirror turn signals that are switchback and sequential, and only received a generic time in the future that didn't happen. I've just given up on buying their products as a realistic option at this point. Any other suggestions for alternatives to the MESO products would be greatly appreciated. The majority of the things I'm currently hunting for are probably 3D printed, so it amazes me that these easy money makers for them aren't available. If I could get the designs, I'd find the right filament and print my own at home. Hell, if it would help, at this point I'd even offer to dedicate a 3D printer at my house to print for MESO to get things back in stock as I know I'm not the only one looking.

Bro how selfish do you have to be to be this upset over a small custom shop not providing YOU with stock.

We all waited. Get in line, set up your email notifications and follow on social media to know when they'll be back in stock.

There are options out there for some of the items. AJT Designs does interior kits that are also high quality as well as some of the other items that MESO sells and some that he does not ( or not in the color you might want). I, for example, personally prefer the AJT fob to the MESO one. But, most other items I have are from MESO. You just can't beat his attention to detail, quality, support and recognition of products that improve the overall functionality and appearance of the Tacoma.

Other places sell overlays and decals to cover the parts.

The reality is the MESO ranks among the very best in terms of quality and customer service. His items sell out because people value the quality and support they get. I don't think you'll get a lot of traction trying to convince the community to ditch his products. We'd all like to get whatever we want whenever we want it. Most, though, I am willing to bet will wait.

I'm just curious what the color of your truck has to do with MESO products?

FYI, meso runs limited production on each product from time to time.

MESO now injection molds most of his products for increased production and color options. So it’s not as easy as firing up his 3D printers.

He is also a small business who is dealing with the same restraints that most businesses are seeing due to COVID.

Sorry you can’t get the truck parts you want as quickly as you want them.

Didn’t you know that Meso is an acronym for “Most Everything Sold Out?”

I love the items I have, and I’m waiting for a few more but to be honest, the longer I wait the more I lose interest.

Meso is a small operation, likely using his own personal funds and sales proceeds as working capital. He's probably reached that decision point that a lot of small businesses reach of needing to invest and expand to meet demand and grow, and may not be comfortable leveraging in this environment. This is a scary time to make that kind of financial commitment. This may also just be a side hustle for him and he's happy keeping it the way it is. Who knows.

He makes what seem to be quality products and has a loyal following here. Lots of people seem to be willing to wait for his stuff to come out, so I doubt you will get much sympathy. It's certainly your prerogative to go spend your money elsewhere that has what you want in stock.

To summarize: a small business with a great rep doesn’t have products you want in stock, and you’re unhappy about it, so you are going to “ditch” the business.

The result is that you will not be buying anything from Meso…which is already the status quo, so the point is…what? You just wanted to complain about it? Why not go on about your life instead. I think both you and Meso will survive.

I'm mad that Meso keeps making shit I want to buy.

What kind of asshole innovates and then takes my money and gives me those things in return?

I mean, its probably good that he never has things in stock, based on the time value of money, I think it probably saves me money.

I would have a strong word with him about his products, but I'd rather him get back to work.
