The speaker symbol below the plus sign isn't as well lit as the rest of the symbols as previously shown by others. Having the buttons function correctly is far more important to me than the light, id have purchased this if it weren't backlit at all, the buttons aren't in my line of sight and now working with them is far more intuitive. Absolutely a win but I can understand why someone would wait, there seems to be a lot of work towards a fix.

That was my thought. The whole point of the depression is to do it by feel. I honestly rarely drive at night and so much of the controls are by feel anyway. Thanks for the info!

MESO has earned a reputation for creating quality products. This launch is a bit of a stain on their reputation.

You have to sign up for notification when the item releases, it usually gets sold out pretty fast depending on the item. If you missed it you will have to wait until he releases more.

I haven't installed mine yet, waiting to see what Meso comes up with first

I have nearly every product that he makes for the tacoma and they have all been extremely well made and fit and finish are top notch. I don't think one product with an issue would stain his stellar reputation. Especially with the response he gives. Just my .02

I ordered it the second i got the notification that it was in stock.
I got a tracking number on the 14th and it still says "Your shipment was received at 12:31 pm on September 14, 2023 in YUBA CITY, CA 95993. The acceptance of your package is pending."
Support says they think the post office lost it (and maybe several other orders). Still waiting for an update...

I need this in my truck...

I am in isolation recovering from a bout of Covid so in my boredom I broke out the spray paint and painted the steering wheel pieces in quicksand.

I’ve been wanting to do that for a while. I have many good attributes, color coordination I don’t think is one of them. I’m sure I’ll end up pulling the trigger, as long as I like it I guess.

It's probably worth noting this is the first product I've purchased from MESO. Based on their reputation, this quality control problem sours me a bit. Based on their past, I'm sure they'll get it fixed but this should have never shipped with this problem.

This isn’t the first time they’ve had QC problems. You should check out the tail light thread. There have also been a considerable number of bulb failures from the total tail kits.

I like Meso’s desire to bring cool ideas to market, but the execution of a few products definitely leaves something to be desired.

I have a feeling the indents are affecting the lighting consistency. Factory button does not have indents on the volume controls, only on the seek arrows, whereas the Meso button has the indents on all.

Might be best for Meso to just delete the indents on the volume portions. But idk, I'm sure they can figure it out with more testing.

I have had an issue with almost every led I have gotten from Meso on release. That being said, they always sort it out.
V5 Switchbacks had leds out on the first batch so they sent a new pair and let me keep the olds. No issue now.
Ultimate tails had a bolt design flaw and I got a full replacement. No issue now.
Third brake light came without a gasket and I was sent one.
This is one issue I never had resolved though. The backlight offset on their switches.

Yeah I can totally understand that.

I've got the total tail and haven't had any issues so far. Been about a year.

Man I hate you've had so many issues.
It's good to hear he's taken care of you. That's an awesome thing for him to send you replacements. Good customer service is extremely rare these days.

They definitely don’t all fail, or at least don’t all fail quickly, but I’d say I’ve probably seen 20-30 people needing bulb replacements here. Not sure what percentage that is of the total.

    Some stuff
the backlight issue with the switch,
I think I sent my negative off to another switch to make the puddle pods light switch less bright.

My light is off center on the puddle switch. It has the same lighting issue as steering wheel button. It's half illuminated.
I know there is a fix somewhere in the puddle pod thread but I have yet to go through the 300+ pages to find it.
I expect to have to crack it open.
