Meso customs volume button relocation

I have zero dogs in this fight. But one vendor blindly sticking up for another vendor who clearly deserves some constructive criticism seems counterproductive too.

 

Thanks. That's a given. Just wanted to know if there was any official announcement from the vendor that I had missed, that others are aware of.

Nope, no announcement. Looks like he sent the email to everyone that was on the waiting list but never said a thing to the existing customers that have been patiently waiting since September.

 

Just got a reply from my submitted help request, type - warranty claim. Trevor just placed an order for me and will be shipping out in a few days...

got the meso "steering wheel control fix kit" installed yesterday. took a night picture for all that are curious about the lighting, seems to be just fine.

tip: once you have the airbag bolts on each side of the steering wheel loosened up all the way, use a telescoping magnet (if you have one) to pull the bolts out a little so the airbag unit will easily lift out.

 

Is it just me or does the color not match?

 

i think it's the lighting. it looks like all the button lights on the left side of the steering wheel are a little different color then the button lights on the right...

 

Doesn’t the Meso circuit board cover all that area?

 

i think you're right. i didn't notice any difference while looking at the lights last night but i'll look a little closer at them tonight...

 

Thanks for the tip. I struggled to get the airbag out when I installed my steering wheel blackout trim. I knew the bolts were loose, but it took some time to get the airbag loose. This hopefully will be revisited early next week when I get my volume fix.

 

I installed mine this weekend and love the volume orientation. I have a question for those that are using them. Do the left/right arrows seem backwards? When I push the right arrow my radio presets move to the left and when I push the left arrow they move to the right.

Installed mine this past weekend. Color is definitely slightly off.

 

I just installed mine and mine does this too when listening to the radio. I think this is Toyota’s issue as the OEM “up” button would scroll down through the presets and the “down” button would scroll up through the presets (makes no sense to me???). Meso’s fix swaps the up and right functions and also the down and left functions. Use CarPlay it will make sense. With the fix the right button will go to the next track and the left button will restart song/ go to previous song.

to make this fix perfect we need someone who can program the head unit. In my opinion Toyota messes up with the original design.
