Just received my dome lights from MESO and was going to put them in on my lunch but the connection is too small. Anyone else have this issue??

    this looks vaguely familiar

I have mine, they work. I believe polarity matters. To be oriented the right way.
You can always reach out to them, post in the big thread
if I get a Meso thing, I trust it. Mine may have been like that too, I don't remember. So I simply put the bulb into the holder, and it worked. Done.
It's a low power application, resistance may not matter. Regarding how exactly it sits in those things.
Haven't had any issues. It's been installed for a while. Not worried about it.

also be sure it is in fact the harder to find 2nd gen that fits your truck and not another vehicle version more available
though you may have the right one, and a different kind probably wouldn't even pop into the headliner.

So yeah the led I removed is probably a half inch longer than the MESO. I’m thinking I can bend the tabs to hold it more securely in place I just assumed this was a tried and true plug in and play. I was assuming I got a 4 runner model by mistake or something along those lines.

also what main thread are you referring too that they check?

I don't have this MESO light, but when I changed my dome light bulb to LED the bulb size in the big thread that has all the 2nd gen bulb sizes was wrong for the dome light. I think after a certain year the bulb size changed in the dome light to something smaller, just my opinion though. I ended up buying a longer bulb similar to the oem one and that fit get. The smaller bulb would not work and just fall out on my truck ('05).

Just installed the dome light pictures. So the oem festoon bulb is 39mm I think and meso uses a “festoon” that fits both 2nd and 3rd gen and just attaches the led panel to the corresponding housing. I’m it looks short but it will fit and be held into place.

it is definitely too small from the original and is not a “great” fit but it does seem to be holding. I just ended up pressing it deeper into the socket. So far it’s worked and has not come loose.
