Meso flip fob key won’t unlock/lock tailgate

Got a meso flip fob got it all built took to get it cut, got it cut, go to truck fires right up. A few days later went to unlock tailgate won’t turn either way. Grab my other original key and boom unlocked. Any suggestions, ideas? Just sell the truck?? Ha appreciate it

just did mine a few weeks ago...dealer "laser cut" it by VIN for $20 and i love it, have not had any issues...of course i haven't tried locking or unlocking my tailgate

although all my keys seem very rough, maybe they need some breaking in...ill try some sand paper on them

maybe your new key is rough

 

mine was not laser cut but I’ve cut many keys in my life and it starts the truck. I’ll sand it. I love it just got me stumped

 

no issues with mine.

 

Check the insertion depth compared to the original

I believe that @MESO said that he will sell extra blades if there is a screw up.

I got mine cut for about $4 and checked all the locks before leaving. Work perfectly.

 

wouldn’t consider it a screw up if starts the truck.

 

If it doesn't work in the TG, I would if it were mine.

take it back to where you had it cut, and let them "recut" it, and try in the gate before you leave. if that dont work, you will need another blank, and start over. preferably at a dealer or locksmith that knows how to cut keys correctly. good luck!

How are these keys cut? Had a guy tell me the fob won't fit in the vice so he can't cut it.

I just got home and had the idea to press the button and turn the blade with 90 degrees worth of the flip...

Just purchased one and had it cut with no issues by a little old lady in a locksmith's shop. Key worked great. The only issue I had was a few days later when opening the key, it flew out of theholder and I almost lost it. Just make sure you tighten the set screw. Also sand down the button tabs before assembly as they are pretty long which makes the buttons tight and set off the panic and unlock buttons just by breathing on it.
