I will post the board when I seperate it, but changing the diode on a board is probably beyond my comfort!

After fighting with the OEM bracket and losing the fight- I decided to nuke it. In hindsight I probably should have asked like your doing now but the bracket was preventing me from stuffing the wiring down the “A” pillar hole. Space is at a premium with the puddles and the puddle switch in that pillar channel.

Typically they slide in parallel with a “latch” to keep it in place.
To understand, look at the one you are installing (MESOs) for reference, it is meant to snap in the same place. At times I have had to use a jewelers screwdriver (flat/blade) to achieve success with this, but use what you have available, if a swift tug doesn’t dislodge it. REMEMBER: DO NOT PULL BY THE HARNESS/WIRES.

Hey @MESO , when you say that the first version needs modification to get the switch to illuminate, are you talking about the original ones you sent out before production or the first big batch you had done? I bought mine during your first big release. And if I do have the version that needs modification for switch illumination, is there a harness I can buy to make this more plug and play? Thanks!

To tell which version you have you can check the harness that you installed(check quote below for details). Any modification that needs to be done it to the harness and not the truck wiring.

Yeah, I couldn't get mine to budge at all (even used a small pick tool to try and help). Out of frustration, I ended up snipping it in half to split the two harnesses and then just snipped the christmas tree portion off the big one so it would sit flush. Then I just used felt tape for now to hold it in place so it wouldn't rattle.

Maybe one day I'll find and order a single one from the 2016/2017s and use that to hold the Meso harness... but for now it works.

I had that issue and it ticked me off for a bit too. If you have a trim pick, use that to push up in the very middle of the bracket and plug. See pictures below. It seems like you can slide the plug up about an 1/8” and then it catches so you have to release the clip. Hope this helps!77427B50-369F-49B7-816D-2F5C7B227BE8.jpgimage.jpg

@MESO I have a set of the ECT plugs I bought from you. They look like molex microblade, but I'm not certain. Can you recommend a crimping tool for these pins?

While I agree that it’s always best to be safe rather than sorry, I don’t think that cable was that much of a safety concern. Here are pictures of my truck with the OEM clip in its original state and with the meso harness. The Toyota clip is just as much in the way as his wire was. It looks like the airbag is higher up than where the wiring harnesses sit
