I can only assume the ground connection isn't the best. Double check the ground connection is solid. Worst case, might need to find a new ground location.

I have to agree with @CttAznRanger... this reeks of a bad GND.

And for all the people about to install this. I recommend hooking everything up before installing... makes it easy to troubleshoot to make sure all your wiring is correct. (i.e. Connect at the A-Pillar and hook up all the wires and test it out.) If it works that way, then you'll have high confidence it should work once you get everything buttoned up.

Finished my install light night. I installed the puddle pods in tandem with 6 rock lights. I utilized the dsim and the ozinium dimmer found on Amazon. I have an Aironboard switch I’m waiting on that’s has wiring waiting for it in the overhead console area. Switch will operate as On/Auto no off. Install took all day wiring up everything from scratch. Came out awesome and love how they all dim on and will be able to switch on whenever I want. We noticed one thing. That when you use the dsim for any accessory your dome lights and Rear cab/bed light no longer dim on/off. Just a heads up for those using.

Big shout out to @Puppypunter for the idea of the Dimmer and helping me with my diagram and questions.

here’s a video of them in action last night.

just to put more info if it matters. My truck is a 2019 SR5 DCSB. My circuit is exactly as on The dsim website. The wiring diagram using a ch4x4 switch. Only I’m using the ozidium dimmer instead of a relay so shouldn’t make any difference.

I had tested before install and it worked. I grounded to an existing ground. Turns out it had a break in it. All better now. Thank you

    Smart man.

Glad to hear you were able to resolve it.

Would love to hear about any tips & tricks you may have learned during your install.

I just did the switch here. I did the pods a while ago and don’t remember and tips I could offer. The switch was easy minus the ground issue. I pulled a pillar off, and panel under dash. Just fed the switch plug down and connected the ground to the main ground behind the kick panel.

Anyone know of options for grounding the switch in the overhead console? I saw that someone mentioned tapping into the traction black ground, but was wondering about other possibilities.
    Thanks

Puddles pods installed! That was sort of a bitch:p not super difficult but time consuming. I guess I took my time, took almost 4 hours:confused: pulling cable through the boot was a PIA! They work great. Super bright:D now I need one of MESO’s custom left side panels to install the switch. The PRO only has one empty switch and it’s not the same size as the puddle switch:( all together an awesome product! Keep em coming! @MESO

I’m not sure if MESO is dropping any more DIY stealth shift knob kit, but I purchased his stealth shift knob wired for ECT and his puddle switched replaced that blank space. I was going to wait for his custom layout switch panels to become available(custom printed) but the knobs drop and I grabbed one.

Thanks! Waiting for this DIY kit! I seriously considered buying one when they released last week and was going to try and sell my stock shift knob. $190 vs. $60 for a DIY. I’ll wait :pout: Im saving for a roof rack and sliders. I still would like a custom panel for the left side and overhead console so I can get more mods and lights and stuff:thumbsup:

Have you tried disconnecting at the A-Pillar and putting the wiring back to factory? See if that fixes the issue.

And I know it's a little too late for your situation, but... for all the people about to install this. I recommend hooking everything up before installing... makes it easy to troubleshoot to make sure all your wiring is correct. (i.e. Connect at the A-Pillar and hook up all the wires and test it out.) If it works that way, then you'll have high confidence it should work once you get everything buttoned up.

I actually did do this and everything seemed fine. But I didn’t go for a drive afterwards, they worked so I installed.
I’ll try and reconnect to stock at a-pillar and see it fixes anything

Oh... right, right... then if it worked before then it would seem that, maybe, a wire got pinched or something?

Love to know how it reacts when you put everything back to stock. G'luck!

Sorry for the scare. Didn’t work when I reconnected at A pillar because I’m a dumbass I supposeo_O I opened the fuse box back up and I guess I forgot to put a fuse back when I was checking them which pisses me off cuz I typically don’t misplace things and am anal with shit like that. Guess I’m slipping:p everything works fine and dandy now:D thanks for the troubleshooting ideas:cool: and I swear I put it together first! Lol. My lighting game is on point now!
