Meso hooked me up in finding a set of these last month. I put them in last evening and it was far easier than I thought. Pulling the wire through the door with a wire coat hanger was a two minute job each side. If I lubed it with fluid film I'm sure it wouldn’t have been a 10 second job.

The A pillar was the only time consuming part to make sure there was no bulge but after 10 minutes of screwing around it worked and looks perfect. These light are bright and throw a wide beam of light that should be great when camping as well.

The quality of Meso’s parts is OEM from the pod holders to the wire and plugs. If this was a option on Toyotas parts catalog they would and could charge $500.

My only gripe is the color or brightness of the switch at night. The illuminated switch doesn’t match OEM illumination.

Best addition so far for me.

The color was close.. but not close enough. I am revising them now with a “cooler” blue color

If you don’t mind tinkering with it slightly, you can dim the switch illumination. I posted somewhere in this thread about how to do it with a resistor and using the OEM dimming illumination circuit for the ground if you want the Meso switch to dim with the rest. You don’t have to use the ground dimming circuit if you just want to use the resistor. The larger the resistor, the dimmer the light, so you can play around with that. I will say from experience that once the switch is dimmed down, it does get closer to matching the OEM color.

if you REALLY want it to match, you can change the LEDs as well. But the Meso switch circuit board is kind of a pain to solder to, so I wouldn’t recommend this option unless you are really good at soldering (I’m pretty good with it, and I f’ed up the first switch I tried it with). If you do this option, be sure to add the corresponding resistor. I added it inline outside of the switch for space reasons.

Or you could go with the easiest option and wait until he releases switch 2.0 with a different LED :)

Is there a way to change the color to this "cooler" blue for the ones we already have?

Unfortunately the led is soldered inside on the PCB and not easy to change. It would require The switch to be changed.

Understood. Could you sell the "cooler" blue switch without the wiring harness for those of us who are OCD about this. :annoyed:

The newer color looks closer to a true blue. Could just be the surrounding ambient light? I'd love to see both next to an OEM switch

Welp I guess I’ll have a “non cool blue” switch available after I buy the new switch. If anyone is interested haha

Hey guys I’m working on installing my puddle switch after months of sitting in garage. Wonder if someone can help me out. Can I snip the hole for the ground eyelet? I can’t find anything for it to ground to and don’t have spare eyelets. Thanks guys, trying to finish this up supposed to leave in 20 mins. If not done the wife is gonna have my ass lol.

I suppose you can. Keep looking, I found a ground that was tight fit, but worked.

I ended up sniping it so I could go around a larger bolt. I need to trim a bit more of the plastic behind the lower left switch panel for the one blank I need to put in so I’ll end up getting a larger eyelet and do it right once I trim more. Ran out of time. Can anyone tell a noob how to attach a new eyelet? Thanks!
