I have the aqua kit sitting in my cart now with the harness-

 

I have the VLED footwell kit in my Tundra and I like them. I don't have the rear kit installed as I'm not a fan of the under seat location, so I a plan to hook up a MAXPOD to the lower rear center console.

 

Got mines.

 

Mine arrived a day earlier than expected, quite excited. Now I’ll probably skip dinner and install them this evening.

 

Got mine as well! Just going to wait a few days and see if the aqua footwells are restocked to ship out from VLEDs (sorry @memario1214 I went with them since they have the harness)

 

In case anyone questions it I (as a random person on the internet and not qualified to offer advice) definitely recommend disconnecting the battery and when you get to the door pass through grommets, unhook the connectors that pass through to the cab so you can pull that section out in between and easily fish the wire through. Messing with the tape in the little recess is a pita… these steps.. when I installed the v5 mirror turns I tried to just take the tape off and it took more time than it would have this way.

 

Thanks for calling this out. I wondered if this would be really needed while reviewing the install steps and you confirmed it.

 

I had tried and tried unwrapping the tape and then using a big heavy duty zip tie and had no luck. Some may have but you still gotta take that tape off, and that’s no fun lol.

If we use the puddle harness to power the V5 turns what behavior does that give for the DRL function? Are they always on or turn off with DRL off?

 

always on

 

Puddle system has ignition, 12v, parking light and dome neg. No access to the DRL signal. Hooking v5’s to the MESO puddle harness via add on connector makes it on with ignition.

I could build a puddle injector add on for my v5 T harness if people wanted that. It would re-route the DRL signal from the T into the puddle feeds, no need to change anything in the doors.

 

It has ign for bright and parking for dim...

I would love something like this. I already have your harness to bring DRL and Park into the cab, but would love a clean way to tap into the V5 harness without cutting and splicing.
