Check if the T-Harness has any bent pins...Then carefully plugging them back in.

Judging by the number of errors he’s having it wouldn’t just be a single pin. Either that IN1 harness is mispinned or wasn’t seated all the way. All of the functions he’s describing are pinned in that harness. Since his puddles were working before, it sounds like the harness may have unseated. The gimmicky footwell/puddle kit that uses t taps from that Toyota dealership wouldn’t be enough to cause all of those errors. At most it would kill his dome lights, not cause lane departure and VSC issues.

:DI just answered his post too soon right before he edited and gave "more details" in his post. Sounds like he opened a can or worms. Hope he get it fix before his truck explodes...

I hope I can get this fixed, too, but in the meantime I can just pop in a new fuse remove the T harness and run it like it was prior and everything is fine. It just sucks that I have a full set of puddle pods installed but can't use them. I really liked the idea of combining the wide throw of light from the puddle pods and then where that light is cutoff the puddle lights under the cab would illuminate the rest of the ground providing tons of light all around and under the truck.

Thank you guys for responding so quick. I will check out the harness for any issues with pins and report back. Let me know if there is any additional information of pictures I can provide to help troubleshoot.

During your troubleshooting did you determine it was just the T harness? I.e. isolate the connections branching off to the pods? That would have been my next move. It would tell you where to go next.

Anyone have any tips for tucking the harness that is in the pillar? I can’t seem to get the pillar trim to fit properly after I have the harness in there.

Hey I finally got my puddle pods after receiving word they were back in stock!! Currently at this nightmare part… I bought a snake to try and fish it through but the boot is so tight, I can’t even get it through. Are there extra wires going through that boot associated with the pro that’s making this even harder? I’m tempted to run it outside the boot

If you remove the boot (unwrapped the tape) from both end (door and by the footwell) you should be able to “pull and massage” it’s way to the other end. I started on pulling it in from the footwell side…

So I went back and carefully inspected the T harness and the pin layout as well as fully seated wiring and it all appeared to be nice and tight along with the "Q.C. Passed" sticker. Next I wanted to isolate each side based on your suggestion - keep in mind that at this point I can have both left and right VLED connections plugged into the splitter and they both turn on and function as intended. The moment I turn the truck on is when the fuse blows and everything takes a crap.

So I started with the passenger side connected only and what do ya know? the truck turns on without blowing a fuse and the passenger pod is lit - everything is normal with only passenger connected. I then try swapping the passenger VLED connector to the other pigtail and it still works just fine therefore eliminating a possible fault with pigtail wires. Now I am left with the driver side - I can plug it in and it lights up but soon as I start the truck the fuse blows. So this obviously narrows down a problem with the driver side wire or connection, but if it was shorted along the way wouldn't that affect the pod light coming on at all like before I start the truck? or would a short in the wire only present itself when the truck starts? I can't visually see any issues along the exposed part of the wire and I will have to remove the door card and inspect it along the way, but again, the pod lights up and functions as it should, it just blows a fuse when turned on. Maybe fishing the wire thru the boot damaged the VLED connection? but it still works?

I am out of ideas over here and can only rock 1 puddle pod and a pile of blown 7.5a fuses!

Try the light on the passenger side. From what you have said, that will narrow to JUST the harness on driver side.

It's just preparatory wiring mostly. The only thing it's hooked up to is an Uptop Alpha with scene pods right now. The harness is prepped for lighting front and rear as well. Just big plans.

Here's a basic schematic for the switch. Ignore the switch part entirely (unless this is your setup).

I would check from the bottom red wire on the right-hand side of the image to the other pins and ground for the driver side connector and see if you've got a short in any of those. The red wire is your ignition source. I am not sure what color that is for the harness that runs through the boot and into the door as I have not received my pods yet. Someone else may need to chime in on the wiring for the section in the below image that only shows all black.

    **EDIT**
Anyone with these lights, is it possible to connect the wire harnesses incorrectly? Wondering if they may be 180° out.

Couldn’t I just half ass it and tape the harness to the outside of the boot and run it that way?

I’d recommend not to do that. If you remove the pass through connectors on the cab side you can get the entire cab side of the boot out and its much easier to deal with.
Here’s the passenger side from when I did the v5 turns. The drivers side should be the same.

You should be able to reach down if you peeled off enough of the plastic insulator. Maybe with some dish soap.

Also you can get a good grab of the ridged part of the boot and slowly pull it away from the door side. It’ll give…just be patient. You got this. I’d help you if you live closer and I’m COVID free.
