I have a v5 puddle injector now. Haven’t sent one to anyone yet. One guy wanted a variation on it. It’d eliminate the need to run both v5 harness and puddle harness through the boot.

Would it retain full functionality then? Dimming with headlights or would you recommend a Headlight harness for the OEM LED headlights?

Needs conversion harness or halogen T or led T and my v5 module. Just eliminates the v5 harness through the boot as you can use puddles. Swaps DRL for ignition really.

Sorry, can you ELI5? With this injector, which harness am I running through the door?

    I.E. is this:

    1. Wire up V5's with your LED headlight t-harness, then add to this at the mirror to hook up puddle pods, ignoring the original MESO A-Pillar t-splitter.
    -OR-
    2. Wire up the Puddle Pods per normal, then use this to somehow...add the DRL signal to the harness, so the V5's will dim/turn-off with DRL properly.

I'm assuming it's #1, right? In which case, I take it the toggle switch he's re-releasing soon wouldn't work? If I recall that taps off the A-Pillar splitter.

Option 2 but with a T at headlight and T for v5’s. The puddle injector makes some small sense for anyone with puddles who wants to add v5’s without opening the boots a second time. Still need to capture DRL at the headlight and send it through the firewall. Still need puddle system as is. The injector just swaps ignition in the puddle system for DRL so that doing v5’s to puddles has a stalk off option.

if installing both at the same time I’d feed both v5 and puddle harnesses since that gives more options later.

not sure it makes total sense how I’ve described.

Gotcha, this is an ease of installation mod but with less capabilities. Thanks!

Same functionality as running dedicated v5 wire all the way

I installed the driver side today, started at 12 and finally finished at 3. I originally wanted to install both sides but had stuff to do today. The longest part was probably running the wire through the boot. I finally was able to get it through when i applied some mission automotive dielectric grease (for lube) on the electric tape i used to wrap the connector with and used a straight plastic pry tool to push it up. I tried the zip tie and the metal claw trick but didn't work either. I guess I have more wiring because of the bsm and 360 camera. I also couldn't find a way to get the v5 harness in through the mirror hole to use the same connecter as the pods. I originally had the v5 tapped into the door wires and I pulled the harness from the mirror thinking i could use the v5 puddle harness but I couldn't so I had to run the wire back again. I did leave the taps on the wire though just in case. I'm going to do the passenger side probably next weekend.

So i got my pods installed over the weekend and love the look of these. There awesome, but I don't like that they stay on with the doors open. I was hopeing they could be tunred off with the OCP switch. The switch to do this is out of stock unfortunately and I don't see any ETA on restock. Can anyone confirm the photo I have is correct for wiring? From the switch ad, I just want to make sure my wiring is correct before proceeding. To turn these on red connects black to ground, auto connects yellow to red, and off just opens the circuit correct? Screenshot_20220516-130400_Samsung Internet.jpg 20220515_175044.jpg

@MESO has said the switch kit is in production and shouldn't be too much longer if you willing to wait a bit.

Nope not agenst waiting, more concerned about how many might be made or if I could get ahold of them in time. I did sign up for the email notification though.

A kill switch wouldn’t be hard to do. Just in-line with +12v. But I think they time out when the dome times out so not a problem as far as draining battery.

Got the puddle pods installed, but can't for the life of me figure out the fitment of the Meso harness into the A-pillar. I tried moving the two stock plugs up, but the shorter one won't reach. So I tried to separate the two by moving the larger plug up into the headliner but something is either catching or attached up there. Didn't want to mess with too much prior to asking for some help. Any recommendations for fitment of the Meso harness into this overstuffed space? Thanks!
