I've a V1 MESO Customs mirror puddle pod lights and a switch kit. Does anyone know exactly how to modify the wiring in the harness so that it'll work with illumination? From what I understand, you're supposed to have the V2 light kit as it doesn't work with V1, but I've vaguely read around about it being possible to modify. Help!

    Thanks!

Anyone here who's installed the puddle pods looking to sell the old plastic caps? I've lost one and seems toyota doesn't sell them separately from the rather pricey mirror assembly

here is your fix . I did option 2

I made a quick diagram on TWO different ways to quickly fix this. METHOD 1 is just Switching 1 wire up at the main T harness(we are taking it from pin 1-->pin12) MY PICTURE SHOWS A GREEN WIRE, but IN V1, all wires are BLACK
You can remove this from the truck and work on it on the bench to make it easier.

    COVER WITH TAPE OR INSULATIONAFTER

METHOD 2 Just involves sniping the wire behind the switch and tapping it to anyILLUMINATION wire
    [IMG]

I ran an add a fuse to my 5A PNL fuse, but you can use any other illumination switch power. Or ECT / Cargo light pigtails harness's

Have an issue at the moment where the pods come on with the switch on auto no problem. However anytime I try to switch it to manual on. I hear a click behind the switch and the fuse blows. I thought it may have been the grounding so moved it around but still happens. Had it in my 2016 sport and worked no problem. But moved to the 2020 sport and now this is happening. May have messed something up during when reinstalling, any help would be appreciated.

    Good evening all!

I tried installing the meso puddle pods that dropped in early July then, and upon completion I kept blowing a 7.5 amp fuse underneath the steering column. It is labeled ECU-IG NO. 2 fuse, and whenever i start the truck I get error messages on my instrument cluster screen stating “lane departure Failure” as well as “Pre collision system malfunctions.”
My problem with this then was I did not disconnect the battery terminals back in July, but all the functions of the Meso Puddle Pods along with the On/OFF/AUTO button features worked even as I buttoned everything back up. So i did what was safe and sure then and installed everything and put things back to normal, replaced them 7.5 amp fuse and voila! Everything functioned the same again.

So fast forward to today, I mustered up the courage to try this again as disconnected the battery this time around because the lord knows how sensitive tacomas are when you work with electrical side of things and I have yet the same result as July. All the functions of the puddle pods work once the battery is disconnected but the minute i start the Truck up (2020 DCSB Sport 4x4 No Premium package) the same fuse blows and brings the same error messages I got back in July. Any idea why this keeps happening?

I’ve made sure to disconnect and reconnect all the harnesses provided along the ones in the footwells that were required when fishing through the wires through the door jam. Running out of sunlight here in SoCal but I’d gladly take any recommendations.

    Are you sure it's not ECU-IG No.2?

My bad, i meant to write that. A bit rushed but yes it is that exact one, ECU-IG NO. 2 fuse which is 7.5 amps. I’ll edit my original Post

There seems to be an issue with the harness you have installed. I'd remove it (again) and check is thoroughly for bent, loose pins.

Just removed the T harness that goes in the A-pillar, and everything looks just about alright. Here’s what I’m seeing.
