Depending on relay, you could add some extra lamps where ever they might be wanted.

 

Thanks again for the advice. I’m going to try and find a puddle pod switch and tie everything together at that switch. The lights I’ve looked at only have a positive and negative. Maybe that will make everything easier. I have a few weeks before I’ll get the rack.

I’ve lost a lot of knowledge not working on helicopters these past 12 years

 

@hyrule_trd the guys at "anytimebackupcamera" have a switch that you could use. It has separate illumination and the ground for position indication can be left unconnected (terminal removed).

so, if I’m following you right, connecting into the cargo light switch violet wire, to a relay, then to the lights and a hot wire, the new rock lights will work like the puddle pods? Light up when I’m near the truck with my keys and or unlock or open the doors?

See my diagram. The light switch I have (actual switch pictured) is set that I can turn my light bar and ditch lights on without the truck on. I’ll run the rock lights into that. The power for those is to the battery. They are wired to relays and have an in line fuse as well.



Or maybe I won’t add them and not run another wire through the fire wall, such a pain in the ass for such an easy thing

 

Just add a fuse (proper one for all rock lights as one) between the switch juice and the added relay wire.
Those switches can only handle 3 amps max.

 

Thanks again. just gotta wait till I pick out the lights and can see what size fuse will work. Probably only going to use 2 rock lights since I have the puddles for the front. Something like 5-9w or less for each light and the I’ll go with a 5amp fuse.

 

Looking for a lower driver side plastic cover if anyone has one laying around. Will pay for it + shipping.

 

Someone hit my passenger side mirror the other day in an hit and run so I’m trying to decide between getting these lights to replace the missing piece plus a new cover or replacing the whole mirror. Looking for a lower passenger side plastic cover if anyone has an extra from installing these puddle lights. Would pay for it and shipping.
