Did OP get the optional switch or just the standard unit? I'm waiting for the switches to get back in stock before I do my install.

I imagine if it was purchased recently that it was without the switch.

Thanks again for the support. Will likely be called by Toyota tomorrow for whatever they find.

    No switch, just the pods.

Alright fellas, responded to the dealership today and walked through the truck with the tech. The BCM now has a breather hole and the main connector from the harness is toasted. Dealer quoted me for a whole truck harness, the BCM, attached interior fuse box, and approx. 30 hours of labor. Immediately denying a warranty claim due to my added electronics.

That’s crazy and nothing that I expected to see…
I wonder if there is anyway to figure what caused that… maybe @caribe makaira can look at the pictures and forensic investigate it lol.

sorry to see that happened. Maybe you can get parts from a junk yard for it.

If the pods are to blame for this, how is it possible for something that is plug and play to do so much damage to the ecu?

@Gmarch49 what other electrical mods do you have?
Unless you took things out, no fuse taps on there so this is very confusing.
I’ve got like 4 or 5 fuse taps in mine…

I definitely want to see a root cause analysis of this before I install my puddle pods. The potential (however tiny) of causing $10k+ in damage is scary.

While I can’t really imagine the puddle pods are the root cause, something happened that shouldn’t have. I’m sure @MESO is still working with the OP to try and figure it out.
I’ve seen time and time again that our trucks are very electrically delicate and this is probably the worse I’ve seen on it. Hope someone figures it out.

holy smokes, I wonder what would be the root cause of this. I have my puddles still in box, was waiting for a new driver side plastic piece, one of my clips was broken. Meso sent me a new one no problem, now i'm just waiting for nice weather. Now i may wait even a little bit more after seeing this. I have the vled footwells and v5s. No problems at all.
