    Hello,

    New to the forum but recently bought a new 2023 tacoma SR and have been having fun doing little mods.

    I recently ordered the Stealth Pro Shift Knob from Meso Customs and i've come to find out I got the V2 version with the contacts in the base of the knob and top of the trim ring on the boot.

    Does anyone know how to get remove the stock shift knob base or any easier way than to just brute force it? Looked everywhere online and couldn't find any solution for the V2.

    Thanks!

    Hey guys thanks for the suggestions but I got into contact with meso customs and I guess there is no up to date video install on the new V2 knob.

    They did say they were recording one soon and posting it.

    I did manage to get it installed but I might have to cut the excess leather from the shift knob area due to having to force in the new base from the bottom.

    So does this mean the V2 knobs came and went already? The meso site still says coming soon. Would love to get my hands on one.

    Snagged one as well thanks to being subscribed to this thread. Didn't get an in stock notification I guess because its a new item on Meso's site? Shouldn't be spending the money but was afraid they wouldn't stay in stock for long.

    He edited out the parts where you have to struggle with things for a bit.

    The new shift collar is significantly larger then the original so is a total pain to get in place. I did eventually get it on. Sticking a bottle neck or something in the opening to stretch it out a bit first would probably help. Or just keep on trying until it fits like I did.

    Also on my 2022 I had to unbolt the stereo in order to remove the AC panel as it conflicts. Just removed the bottom two bolts and loosened the top two. No need to remove the unit.

    One of the clips on my center console looks to have been knarled up a bit on the original factory assembly so doesn't hold it in place properly. Anyone know the best source for the little red clips that hold everything together?

    yeah I agree about fitting the knob in the collar - mine still isn't really tucked in and looks a bit ragged - any better idea on how to push it through without the white end parts of the cloth showing? They kind of skipped over that part which was my biggest pain.

    I used a plastic trim tool and it rolled over and looks good. My first try looked as you described.

    I had one edge of the fabric sticking out but managed to use a thin metal spudger to fold it over and tuck it back in well enough. So far so good atleast.

    @skippyscage & @Mach

    Could you guys provide some pictures of what it looks like installed… and, maybe, some of the issues y’all are talking about?

    I’m still on the fence with this one. I have V1 sitting in the garage waiting to be installed, but contemplating on selling it to get V2.
