I’m not going to be using the resistors any longer on this stage 1 kit so what are you all doing to cap off the resistor plug to protect it from the elements. I have the stage 1 kit and Some recommended to use a vacuum cap but that would appear to only work for the stage 2 kit. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I was going to do that but was concerned it still will not keep out the moisture, sucks!

use some dielectric grease first, that will keep the moisture out.

Working on stage 1’s, will be ready next week

That’s a first version pic, the new ones have a standard TYCO 2 pin(resistor) and TYCO 3 pin(turn/reverse/ground)

Which side do they need? Male (Pictured) or Female (has the latch)?

Does using the resistors when it's not necessary, affect the lights? If it doesn't affect the light, why not just use the resistor anyway to plug the connector, instead of using something else to plug it?

It really depends on each truck's set-up. Yours may not hyper flash with the resistor or without, so you think it does not matter. Makes sense.

Unfortunately, as has been discussed at length in several threads, it may not be correct.

Our blinkers are expecting x resistance, and it seems act differently from truck to truck (maybe this is due to ECU model?).
    Too much = problems
    Too little = problems

Problems can range from not working at all, blown fuses, hyper flashing, and one flash then nothing.

Now if you add to that the fact that the math seems to change if your lights, not just blinkers, are in different statuses or you change a bulb in a different location that shares the circuit. There have been a number of users, just in this thread, that have reported odd behavior.
What I mean by different light status is:
    DTRL on or off
    Meso mirror blinkers
    Some other mirror blinker mod
    Lights set to "AUTO"
    Low beams on or off
    High beams on or off
    Hazards on or off
    Reverse lights on or off
Did any bulbs on the circuit change? Front, mirrors, brand, wattage, etc

As you can see, there are several things to consider, however if you are happy with the performance and it seems they work splendidly without added resistance.... it will not cause harm to your Taco to have them or not.
