Is that a Stage 1 or a Stage 2 kit?

I bought a pair of Pro tail lights in anticipation of this mod. So today I decided to make the modification to the reverse bucket sockets since my stage 2 is due to arrive on Monday. I tried both methods - step drill on one and hot knife on the other. I have to say IMO, even though it takes longer and comes out a bit sloppier looking the hot knife is the way to go.

I tried everything with the step drill to keep the plastic remnants from getting around the housing . Upside down, Went slow and used a shop vac - yet I still have some floating around in there. I'm going try to make a little vacuum extension with a as straw to get the few that are left but if you are a little OCD like me then go hot knife through butter style.

Just added a hot knife to my Amazon cart!

 

I don’t know it just dawned on me now, but the knife blade attachment on a soldering iron would be great as well

 

@mesojdm I think you forgot to shrink wrap my resistor! Easy enough of a fix though.

In my defense I did have a helper doing the resistors for me while I was doing the rest.

 

That's pretty bright for a stage 1.

lol... I didn't realize that there was an actual "hot knife" tool. I just use the method that Stew showed with a butane torch and x-acto knife.

 

Yep Stage 1. HUGE improvement from stock!!!

I know it's the one thing that has been really irking me since I bought it. I followed the old thread for probably 6 months looking to fix this crappy design flaw. Overall I like the look of the tails but the 1/2 function & visibility of stock was terrible. All fixed up & very happy how these work & look now!

 

Any way to know when you'll have some more ready for us?

To tell you guys how fast it sold, just thinking for 10sec. whether to go stage 1 or 2, you would've missed it. Waiting for the email notification would've done you no good. Too late.
Realizing how many people were waiting for this I knew I had to confirm purchase asap.
As soon as 8am PST hit, I kept refreshing until ADD TO CART popped up.

Guys who were typing shipping info., you were doomed. Adding to cart doesn't hold and wait til you makeup your mind.
Using Paypal helped greatly and quick. Next batch , you all should setup an account to make purchases quick as in shipping and payment setup.

I cant wait to get this. Also, does anyone know if there is a way of making the tail lights running lights come on with the DRL without the lights in the cab being dimmed?

 

Mine got delivered today even though there was no tracking history until about 30 minutes prior. Can’t wait to get them installed today or tomorrow.

Turn the brightness up lol
