I’m not calling the 2020 Taco a 4th gen. I’ll call it a 3.5 Generation. They really only added a couple cameras, power seat, and some headlights.

The real next 4th gen won’t come out until 2028 or so based on Toyota’s truck development patterns.

(Hint: look at the ancient Tundra)

    Right.

To be clear, I'm not going to upgrade to a 2020.... I mean a legitimate 4th gen (redesign). I also have a feeling that there will be a more accelerated cycle regarding the redesign. Previously, they didn't HAVE to do anything quickly because they had little-to-no competition. With the Colorado/Canyon, Ranger, Gladiator, and upcoming redesign of the Frontier, Toyota can't afford to do things like they did for the last 2 decades in regards to the midsize trucks. Again, just my speculation... I paid cash for my 2018 and I'm making truck payments to myself so I'm not in any hurry.... but I am prepared!

So is there a chance stage 1s will come this weekend? Or did the fobs and puddle lights take over? Just curious, I can’t wait to get my hands on ‘em!

Don't use compressed air, it will only force particles deeper into crevices. I used a shop vac after using a dremel grinding wheel and got all of it out.

I had pretty good success with a Metro Vac and one of the tiny trim attachments. Still not a fun task. Better to enlarge the hole in a cleaner way and make life easier.

Look at how much competition they have in the 1/2 ton segment and they still haven’t updated the Tundra.

Toyota bets the farm in brand loyalists and perceived quality values.

With regards to the Thndra, I find it difficult spending $50-$58k on a truck that makes abysmal gas mileage with tech from 10 years ago. Plus the styling is outdated. They haven’t even acknowledge the “anti-chrome” movement. Would love to see more color-keyed/blackout packages.

When I pass the Taco on to my son, I’m thinking a Ram Rebel or F-150 Raptor.

But then again, the Grand Cherokee Trailhawk still holds a special place in my heart. :burp:

    I got the stage 2.

It seems the 3d-printed part is a little too thin and has too much play in between the 3d-printed part and the hole on the tail light.

Now I gotta figure out how to get this part thicker or have a larger diameter so the glue actually has surface area for it to stick on the tail light hole......

It should be a fairly snug fit... You’re only supposed to cut out the inner part, not the rim...

I did. The problem is with my process. I used an appropriately sized spade bit but this had the adverse effect of chipping away some parts of the outer rim.

I do have this product called apoxie sculpt so I'm covered.....

Last time MESO mentioned a time frame he said possibly this weekend. But that was also while he was getting all the stage 2s ready and his puddle lights and minimalist fobs are being released this weekend as well. So they might not be coming this weekend...:notsure:
