I used what I had instead of buying anything. I’ll likely never use an ultrasonic knife again. I just used my pocket knife–it’s a Ka-bar I think and a lighter for heat. I turned the headlight so that the holes were facing down and the lens cover was facing up to minimize pieces getting caught.

A few pieces managed to sneak their way in, but a couple of shakes and firm taps got them all out.

How do you get leverage and be able to see if you turned the light upside down if the lenscover was facing up? You were pushing the knife up from the bottom while holding the light?

Yes, I was pushing the knife up, but like I said, the plastic was pretty soft after being heated up. I would torch it for a couple of seconds and then use the knife for a couple seconds. It was back and forth quickly since the plastic didn't stay malleable for long.

I started with the tail light upright, the way it sits on the truck, but that was no bueno. I suggest some clamps to hold it in place while its upside down or perhaps someone who can hold it for you. I just sat one end on a surface and let the half I was working on hang over. I had to hold it with my other hand of course, but it worked for me. Just go slow, take your time. If you have to add so much pressure you're worried about something breaking then you probably need more heat.

And if those of you who had some hard to get out pieces, I used a flexible stick or a sipping straw and use scotch tape on the end . wrap it around the stick generously to make the adhesive work for you. I used a hot knife as well. I was cleaning my cut around the hole and had some pieces drop inside the housing. This work great.. try it out!! yeeeah!

I’m pretty sure the new stage 1s are the 1.5s you speak of. He took the stage 1s and has upgraded them to help us and help him, so the old stage 1s are antiques now.

That photo of the bins filled with Stage 1.5s, ooooh, so sexy.

Can't wait for the drop. At least it look like they shouldn't sell out instantly, good luck and may the odds be ever in....nah, I want mine! lol

Yes I will have an upgrade(not listed, you will have to contact me) but it will be really close to the price of the whole kit. Because essentially everything is new besides the 2 wiring harnesses.
