@MESO the wire harness for the new stage 1.5 is now the same as the stage 2’s right.

Send a PM. I am going to set aside a handful of extra bulbs/adapters.
    This week;)
All new bulbs, better output and more refined:D
correct. I made a quick diagram to show the changes made. It's pretty simple, I now use the same harness as the stage 2 so it's cross compatible with the new stage 1's.(keep it simple)

    New VS old
    [IMG]

IF YOU WANTED TO UPGRADE TO THE NEW SWITCH BACK it will need this adapter(if using the old harness)

Here is an example why I used the same harness, Stage 1-->2 swap is the same connections

    @MESO

Random question, not that this changes my anxiousness to buy the 1.5s when they drop...

Was at a meet this weekend and met someone who had the stage 1s installed (damn gorgeous light output btw). He mentioned hazards and reverse lights wont work at same time due to relocation of bulbs/wiring. Is this true?

Again, I can't imagine anyone using both at same time but it just had me curious. Again, random question, no purpose behind it....still dying to get my first Meso mod when these drop.

This is true. And the 1 caveat of running a dual color(switchback) bulb in the spot of 1 color. It can only do 1 at a time, and the Amber will always override the White output. So if you are reversing , you can still activate a signal (and the other side will stay white). The only way it won't work is in reverse while having the hazards on. I was fully aware of this, but it's such a small detail in the big picture I felt it was worth the trade off for having a bright, safer amber turn color.

Of course, not trying to bad mouth design at all. I just wanted to know for sure in my head the trade-off (not just a word of mouth), so I knew what the lights were doing for future use. (Not that I plan on reversing with hazards on of course). Thank you for clarifying, can't wait for the drop...my wallet is ready.

    ...and that flip fob too!

Awww so much to think about!!

Do I want a whole new stage “1.5” or just update my stage 1 :/

What’s the price point in these new ones?

Sounds like the upgrade is almost the same price as the whole kit. Which makes updating seem more practical.

Aww meso just take my money lol

I feel like my stage 2 harness is missing a few things, compared to the pic on the site. There's a small red connector that I'm not seeing, as well as the black boxes (top of meso site pic)

Anyone see an issue with my harness? Or is this good to go (once I get the vleds) ?

The black box was a resistor first offered I believe. After testing some trucks didn’t need it. I have the stage 2 on my truck with no resisters and it works perfectly.

All you need is the wiring harness and the bulbs and you’re set.

Edit: and of course the VLED adapters

So grab a set of bulbs and rock n roll, eh?

Guess the 'missing' plug had to do with the resistors as well.

Yes, just get some bulbs and rock, roll and shine up the town.

I think that other plug was for the resister to run through. You’re good with what you have.

On another note for install time. The plugging of the harness and bulbs only took a matter of minutes for both tail lights. Drilling and vacuuming for me took maybe 15-20 minutes. It is a fairly quick install. I will say do not get the fast drying epoxy jb weld. That stuff dried and hardened in less than 20 seconds. I didn’t even have time to put a bead around the adapter. Get the regular stuff and let it set

Thanks for the tip on the quick dry: avoid.

Now, to get the best in VLed lighting solutions... (more importantly, the proper switchback for the reverse/turn light)

    No problem.

Yeah they have extreme versions now. I’m happy with what I got with the complete kit. Also, use the Tacoma10 on checkout for 10% off if there isn’t a better deal going on

I really like the look of the new black bulbs. That new switchback looks like twice the leds so probably much brighter turn n backup?
