MESO Total Tail Light Kit

@MESO sent me some 10ohm resistors to put an end to my hyperflash woes....awesome customer service guys!
So far all works great!
I installed them, and mounted the resistor on the inside of my taillight bucket housing, right onto the bed sheet metal. This seems to be a good spot. It should stay dry here, and won't be up near the harness so if it gets hot it won't hurt anything.

@MESO i just ordered a set of the Morimoto XB LED headlights for the front and in the instructions it says that anything other then stock is installed in the turn signals in the rear or anywhere else that you may experience hyper flash. I’m running the total tail stage 1 kit with the small 6ohm resisters. Will I need to change those resistors to avoid the headlights sequential turn signal’s Hyper flashing?

You might not need to change them but maybe remove them completely. Seems people truck are different so it’s a truck by truck basis. Hope you like those new headlights, they’re pretty rad

the XB’s have resistors built in to accommodate the leds. So I’m hoping that The ones that came with the stage 1 will have no affect on the lights at all. I think what TRS means when they say that is the people that just put LEDS in and don’t do anything about the hyper flash.

 

how often does MESO up their inventory?

 

Depends on what you're looking for. Some things are frequently but right now he's preparing for Sema. After that I think he will get busy upping his inventory.

 

I have the original MESO Stage 1 taillight kits with resistors installed. I also installed the Morimoto XB headlights. The MESO KC5 3rd brake light is also part of my system. I upgraded my truck with mirror turn signals. My truck is an SR5 and did not come with turn signals in the mirrors.

I do not have any hyper flashing.

I just installed the V4 Ultimate Turns and it eliminated the reverse hyperflash issue. I read the turns have a resistor so I expected this to happen but figured a confirmation might be helpful for someone. The only lighting mods I have are the Stage 1 tail lights and the V4 turns now.

 

Was your hyper flash only while in reverse and using the turn signal? If so sounds like I need some V4 turns.

Also, we are just finishing production on a custom plug and play resistor. Even though most people won't need them, I am going to offer them if you do. (ETA 2-3 weeks)

@MESO Do you still have to trim the turn signal hole on housing for the stage twos to fit in the hole? Also do you have a link to where you got your sonic cutter/knife or where I can get one?

 

@MESO For those that want to upgrade from the original Stage 1 to the new Stage 1, please remind us what we need to do/get to use the new LEDs with the original S1 harness. Thanks!
