MESO Total Tail Light Kit

So I just ran into something goofy with my total tails and my remote start.

Its -8 degrees out, so I hit the lock button 3 times to start the truck. I noticed out the window that when the lights flashed the first time they were white, then flashed amber the rest of the times.
When we went out to the truck, I put it in reverse and I noticed that no reverse lights were on! After getting home, I parked, went inside. I went back out with hat and gloved to try to figure out why the reverse lights didnt work... I put it in reverse and only the left side was working, so park, then reverse again and now just the right side was working.... it kept switching sides. I turned on the hazards, then both lights worked again.


So, if you ever have one or both of your reverse lights not work, just hit the 4 way flashers while in reverse and it should fix it.

 

Ghost in the machine or Gremlins...

 

@MESO can i request for a total tail load resistors for hyperflashing issues? i did request one on the website a while back. you probably haven't got the chance to read it. thank you so much

 

More Stage 1’s are in production. Little slow due to one of the components being hard to get.
Stage 2’s are still waiting for finalized switchback bulb. It’s tough getting as much light from a Triton V6 into a smaller 921 bulb size. Size does matter...

Thanks for pointing this out! I’ve tested them in cold temps just probably not as cold as that. I’ll look into this negative temperature scenario.

 

I actually think I figured out the cause, its not the cold, but rather the cold killed my battery, so there is not enough power for my 4 ways to turn on right when I unlock the truck. Its happened a few times now, and each time I have had it do it, I have had to jump start the truck. We got 10 more days of below zero temps, but Im going into the dealer wed to get a new battery installed. I'll keep you updated with what it does after I get the new battery.

Anxious to get mine installed but highs still -0 here. Is there any evidence on certain years more prone to flickering? I’ve got a 20

I have a 2016 and installed this the other day . For some reason only the right side is flickering

@MESO So I did some more testing after getting a new battery, and the temps getting above zero. The only time I have a reverse light out seems to be when I use the remote start. Something about flashing the hazards fast (3 click to start) is causing one or both of the reverse lights to not turn on. I can reset them by hitting the hazard switch while in reverse and they all work just as normal.

 

I think I had this (or something similar) happen I believe way back but i can’t confirm specifics. Originally no resistors and no hyper then a random glitch of some sort that self healed after hazards. I think I changed my side mirror turns shortly after which then required me to add resistors.

but I havent had a glitch since but also can’t confirm a fix being there was other variables. Not even sure if a resistor would make sense in your situation but maybe worth a shot?

 

Truck went into shop after getting rear ended. Taillights need to be replaced and I forgot to remove my total tail kit smh. They're gonna wonder what the hell the extra wires are and take em off im sure
