    As for the shake....
I've been thinking of this. It *could* be the o-ring.
Either too thin or flexes when heated.
Some who have the cheaper HIDs doesn't have the shake. So what I *think* is the o-ring. The cheaper ones could have a thicker o-ring that resists heat more. I would try match an o-ring that is slightly thicker from an auto shop, especially engine o-ring since it resists heat, oil whatever .
The o-ring could be too thin. I'd look at it and see what's going on back there.

    * OR*...... pull out the o-rings from the halogen stock bulbs if it is thicker .

U talking about the seal around the bulb? The one that creates the resistance that holds the bulb in? I had a theory that it was how the projector was mounted in the lens. It seemed so flimsy.

Yea...that o-ring . If it works , you can replace with Viton o-rings. They resist heat up to 500deg. not that you'll need it but never softens.

    Update for stage 2 folks-
I spoke with VLEDs, and was informed the 7443 Red’s are due in a few weeks. I apologize for the delay, but I did hit them hard with a large QTY all at once...so they had to make a brand new batch for me. Although they ARE listed on the website, they have LIMITED stock. No where near enough to meet my entire fulfillment.
So everyone’s getting theirs all at once.

    Also..

It’s seems like a pretty good number of people are NOT needing resistors. I can drop the prices on the Stages if I take them off. That way you can use the savings on another MesoMod. :)

Is your Stg. 2 kit back from vacation yet?!

The trick to it is upside down. If anything gets inside, use a bendy-straw taped to a vacuum to get around inside(EDIT:could also use rubber vacuum tube/hose). With hot-knife and MESO offering to sonic-knife anything sent to him, there are options for those who might be too nervous/OCD to attempt.

I would suggest if you use a step drill add a good amount of grease or petroleum jelly and have the light upside down drill slow and clean the bit and add more grease as needed.

you will have to clean the area really well before gluing in the new fixture.

Another thought I had at the time (but did not try) was to use an appropriately sized holesaw or wood paddlebit. Both would only cut at the outer ring and essentially leave the rest whole. I just decided not to be experimental, since I had the already suggested step-bit recommendation.

I did have it upside down. Cutting carefully. I would cut a bit and clean it out then cut again.

I wouldn't want to over-complicate the process, but perhaps connecting some sort of blower to the open taillight sockets would force the air and bits out the hole while drilling?
The one thing you don't want is those bits flying around like it's a "Tornado Money Grab" session. There are alot of 'interesting' spots for things to end up (I've earned the scout merit badge for this).

I thought about it but didn’t want them flying everywhere. It was only a couple pieces. Doesn’t bother me you can’t even see them.

Is there a significant difference in between the brightness of both stages?

I used the hot knife on my soldering iron, worked great. I bought some DEPO Bro's for this as well, so I'll have a set of factory tails in spare or for sale. :laser:
