Installed my kit yesterday, no hyper flash with the OEM LED headlights and fog lights. I ordered the load resistors with the kit, and likely won't need them after I drive it for a week just to be sure (I know I'm weird, if it was gonna happen it'd be happening already).

For those who have experienced hyper flash, does it make the turn indicator on the dash hyper flash too? Is the hyper flash in reverse noticeable from the rear view camera? I tested mine alone with the engine off but ignition on and everything seemed to be working fine.

Yes to both questions. Both the yellow and white are pretty bright so it's a little weird when the light flickers back and forth on one side but I'm ok with that. IMO the camera should only be used for the first and last foot of backing up, though. The rest of the time I look over my shoulder.

Are you saying you get both colors flashing when using your turn signal or reverse?

no, no. Back and forth, white yellow white yellow but at hyperflash speeds. To be clear, this only happens when I use my turn signal while also in reverse (like parallel parking). During normal operation I have no hyperflash.

I never even thought to check the turn signals in reverse. Going to have to give it a shot when I get home now

Copy that, and I think reverse + turn signal was the only permutation I didn't test. If that goes well, I believe I will have my unopened resistors ready to return to @MESO so they can stock them for the next lucky customer!

Even with it I'm not even really tempted to try to fix it by installing the resisters. Since nobody around here seems to understand that turn signals mean, much less in that situation, the hyperflash may be considered a feature rather than a bug.

I don't always use my turn signal in reverse, but when I do it's because I'm parallel parking.

i'd say, as mentioned, you'll find that scenario prime for hyper flash. I haven't parallel parked in 25 years but did test the function, it hyper flashes for sure.

Do you have the OEM LED headlights? From the limited reading I've done it appears that that part of the electrical system plays more nicely with this kit.

Hooray, more data haha! I have the OEM LED lights, I'll report back on the turn + reverse without resistors when I know more.

Yes the turn indicator in the dash will hyper flash (sort of like when your blinker bulb goes out), and yes you can see the hyper flash in reverse on the camera but you can see your blinker (not directly just the reflection off of the pavement) in the camera when not hyper flashing as well because they are so bright! It is not blinding the camera by any means. Your license plate lights are what blinds the camera:thumbsup:
I do have stage 2 taillights though

I already fixed that using the $7 tag light shield kit. :p

Thanks for the info! Stage 1s for me, but I could easily see my turn signal on the pavement from my side mirror at dawn this morning! See below regarding plate light glare.

I got those too, a great lo-tech solution!
