MESO Total Tail Light Kit

Which circuit(s) does the MESO load resistor affect - reverse, turn, brake, all of them? I was under the assumption that the truck monitors all the circuits separately. Otherwise how can it tell you specifically which bulbs are "out"?

If it makes a difference, I have the Stage 1 kit, not installed yet - later today...

 

AFAIK, turns.

 

The vled 7443s shouldn't impact your need or lack of need for resistors. The 7443s are tail and brake lights only. It's a separate circuit than your turn signal. Sounds like you're good without the resistors.

 

Brake light bulbs (7443) will have NO affects with the resistor. They are in a separate circuit. Turn signal is the only one that may or may not need resistor.

 

Waiting patiently for another batch of the stage 1's. I'll just get in line behind the 100's in front of me. Haha.

Such an awesome product. Exactly how it should have come from the factory.

Thanks. I have 100% stock bulbs right now. When I install the Stage 1 kit, can I assume this would be a good time to swap out my front turns to amber 7440 LED's and take advantage of the MESO resistors that are gonna be installed? The resistors in the rear will monitor the entire turn signal circuit, front and rear, yes?

 

Guys, maybe I’m being stupid here but how do the Triton switchback bulbs lock into the adaptor? The ring appears to be wide for the adaptor to fit in place?

 

You screw in 3 screws that came with. Match it to the slots on the adapter. No need for the ring. Just use the rubber gasket.
The screws acts as locking device on the adapter.
Push in and turn .

Try a fitting test on unmounted adapter and Triton.
You'll see it .

 

Yes, all the turn signals front and rear are monitored on the same circuit.

On my install video(stage 2 modifications) I show the bulb with 3 screws installed. They are in the box in a small bag. 3 allen screws into the bulb, then it will twist and lock in place into the triton adapter.

As Stew mentioned before. The yellow has precedence over the white backup as you see.
The red is not this washed out red. It's the damn camera. Its actually nice seeing BOTH reds lit.
It's more red than what you see.
Very pleased with the kit.

*** also keep in mind the reds are stock bulbs until the back order LEDs comes in

 

Awesome!! Yes people think it’s as bright as the sun but it is really misleading From camera pictures. I think it’s just right myself.

Others have answered your question, but as an FYI, I couldn't get mine to lock into place. It would rotate into place, but I was afraid that, due to vibrations, it would eventually rotate back out of the "locked" position and possibly fall out of the hole. I ended up adding a thin rubber washer in front of the foam washer to provide some additional friction. It feels like they they will stay in place now.

 

Weird. With the small gasket and 3 screws it was pretty snug.
Nothing wrong with " Macgyver-ing" .

 

Yeah that’s how it should be. I haven’t heard of anyone needing to add another gasket on top of the foam one

I was working in below freezing temperatures. That may have something to do with it. Not sure.
