I had such a weird different experience growing up. My mom loved Ozzy, Hendrix, Motorhead..she used to say, stay away from speed. It's the best drug out there..and she was literally talking about speed (not the velocity type)...I won a maiden shirt at the fair, I was in the 4-5th grade I wore It to school. They made me turn it inside out. When she picked me up she talked to the teachers on my behalf..kinda cool. She got me ...And Justice for All and said I would listen right before I went to bed..album still makes me feel like I could sleep

I used to love this band..till Clayman..then it went so bad I can't even wear my old shirts anymore. Embarrassed how bad a band can get. I'm sure everyone knows em now, but in 1996 this was rare shit...This shit was mind blowing when I was in high school. It was like a death metal maiden band...

You got that hardcore blood in ya! I dig some breakdowns, always wished they would do Zao style vocals (not in the religious way) but in the gutteral throat exploding way..or like Cult leader. You into them at all? I fuckin love it.

Ah hell yeah! I actually got into Cult Leader because of Trap Them - thank god for Spotify. Can't say I've listened to an album from start to finish, but they tend to come on at random from time to time.

I definitely fixate on the hardcore sound. Really digging some of the new material being put out - although actually calling it hardcore is pretty farfetched now days.

Now we can't talk metal without bringing up some Sepultura.

Dude, totally agree. I keep trying to like their newer stuff, but it's just not the same. Beneath the Remains is probably my favorite Sepultura album, followed by Arise and then Chaos A.D.

Yeah, there's really no band with the sound they have. Also, their albums are so diverse. Lots of different instruments. Stuff you usually don't hear with metal.

Schizo is pretty good too. I forgot about that. Really raw.

I saw em in 1996 maybe. It was with Igor, but then I saw new Sepultura in 1999ish with the black dude on an ozzfest side stage..his presence is awesome..but it was a different band at that point. I wasn't into it at all..

Yeah, they really should have renamed the band IMO.

Wish I could have saw them in their original form. I was more into punk and hardcore at that point in my life. It wasnt until recently that I really found an appteciation for metal. I prefer older stuff. A lot of the newer stuff just isnt the same to me, but I do try to keep open minded to it. I know stuff changes.

    You ever get into Nailbomb?
