Metal fabrication (tailgate cap)

I don't know if this is the proper way of asking on TW but I'm looking for any recommendations of somebody that can fabricate a metal (or copper, etc) tailgate cap for a '09. I'm looking to have one made larger/wider than for example kbvoodoo's cap. I'm in the 91941 area.

Here's a picture idea of what I'm talking about. I flipped the stock plastic cap around to show how far down the gate I would need it to go.

This is what I have. I bought the aluminum one and installed the OEM ribbed panel over it.

I am considering replacing the OEM ribbed panel with this. It's kinda spendy for a sheet of plastic though.

The two I know of that is just a cap, is KBVooDoo, and Mobtown.

KBVooDoo does wrap down beyond the tailgate.

Nice! How far down did the cap come on the outside of the gate?

 

It covers the top about the same as the KBVooDoo shown shown above. Maybe a hair less. I really like that the Relentless reinforcement covers the whole inside of the tailgate and the top, all in 1 piece.

Ya I contacted voodoo and said they are not doing any special orders at this time. I haven't asked mobtown yet.

 

Nice! I will for sure do a reinforcement panel down the road but I'm looking to cover more of the outside of the gate to cover blemishes and protect from future damage. I would want the new cap to come down to handle.

 

There might be another option by DeeZee, but not specifically made for the Tacoma and would probably need to be modded to fit.

Ya I think i saw that one, the aluminum would be easy to work with. I'm just not sure if it's long enough. The dimensions aren't listed. Thanks for searching around for

 

I’ve got the one piece Mobtown, word is they stopped making them, don’t know why. There’s relentless, too both great products.





Edit, looks like the one piece is just 3rd Gen. You could get two pieces. No pic on the 2nd link, it’s a metal piece that replaces the plastic top of tailgate
