    Hey yall,

Ive been hearing this metal clank on my 15 taco and have had a hard time identifying the culprit. Ive taken it to numerous shops and have had the control arms, shocks, struts, axles, sway bars, and every other suspension piece you can imagine looked at. Everything appears to be in good shape with no issues. I only hear this sound when hitting a speed bump or deep dip in the road at low speeds. I do not hear it at medium or high speeds, regardless of the size of the bump

Has anyone else had this issue? One shop was convinced it was the lower engine cover, so I allowed them to replace it and the sound persists. Any insight would be much appreciated. I attached two videos where you can hear the sound.

I had a similar noise in my 2014 TRD Sport and after looking at pretty much all of the stuff you've looked at, it turned out to be a loose bed side support rod in front of the rear wheel well on the driver's side. Might be worth a try.

I no longer have a Tacoma (in a 4Runner right now), but the part in question is a quarter inch diameter round rod that goes diagonally upward / inward from the lower front corner of the rear wheel well opening on the bed side to the frame if I recall correctly.

Does it happen on compression or droop?
If you're running any kind of lift in the front, your upper control arm may be hitting a coil at full droop.
You can jack up the front of the truck, get the tires off the ground, take off your wheels and check the clearance between the UCA and coil on both sides.

No lift, but that is almost exclusively when I hear the noise. I'll look for signs of impact on UCA and coil. Thanks man

Stonewall is the fattest 5 lug slug ever
Subbed, cos mine makes the exact same sound under the exact same conditions, and nothing appears to be the obvious culprit.

Make sure the spare tire is winched up tight. They can get loose and move around.

^^^This! My truck does this and it is the spare tire. Since I know what it is, I'm not that concerned about it.
