    Hey there!

Looking for some diagnostic help with a new metallic sounding rattle. Driving a 2013 Doublecab OR AT with about 105k miles. No lifts or anything. Stock suspension/wheels/etc.

I'm getting a rattle/tinging sound at 49-50mph. Haven't been able to reproduce the sound at any other speed. It happens at that certain point whether accelerating or off the gas. Seems like it's center of the dash below the floor. It doesn't happen every time I hit 50mph, but most times. Roads are flat where I am as well.

Have already checked all the heat shields. Drove with the skid plates off and it still rattles. Have tried it in 4wd and gotten the same outcome at the same speed, so that hopefully eliminates it being the needle bearing issue. Wasn't able to find any posts or videos that matched my issue.

Anyone else out there with this occurance? YouTube video here of the sound

    Thanks!

I could not tell from the video what I was hearing. However, any idea if your truck has gone through the TSB 44-14 procedure to correct spark knock? It was/is a problem with the 2012-2014 V6 engines. Spark knock will sound like keys rattling. It is unlikely based on your description on the circumstances under which you are hearing the noise in your truck but you can at least eliminate spark knock as a source of the noise. I had the procedure done in 2015. It is a dealer issue that they took care of at no cost. Otherwise, there are far more knowledgeable members on this forum that can guide you as to other things to check.

That's a good thought - I actually did have that TSB completed a while back as well. It is a bit different noise/circumstance it seems like. Thanks for the reply!
