anyone know if water/meth injection on n/a 3.5L adds significant power? like maybe a universal kit at the intake tube

i see some potential because i tried diff grades of gas including octane boosters and the engine responded with noticeable more power. we know these tacos have variable timing AND high compression (11.8). i figure the ecu advanced timing to take advantage of the higher octane fuel (u can run a safer test just by using 87oct then 91) this leads me to believe meth inj thatd lower intake temps combined with higher octane gas would result in significant power gain.

yeah the 3.5l is slow but its a loud engine (good if u like racecar sound - mines reeealllly loud and it pops and burbles), its engine is used in the lotus evora, and its smart with vvt and it has stock very high compression due to atkinson cycle i see some potential there with high octane and timing even without boost :ballchain::bananadance::burnrubber:

ps i confirmed top speed governor is 113mphABA06C42-E401-475C-83FC-648F8077793E.jpg

Magnuson TVS1900 Supercharger with 87mm pulley, Catted OVTune dumptubes, Doug Thorley 2.5in y-pipe, custom mufflers, 76mm Tundra throttle body, 5.29 Yukon gears, JamesT custom fuel rails, Yotawerx 87mm tune, Eibach Pro Truck Stage 2 suspension. And some other stuff.
I seriously don't think meth injection will do much of anything for you, with or without a tune.

You want better performance? Here is how you do it:

Best: Install a supercharger, there are a couple kits out there. IMO Magnuson is the best.
Not bad: Install 5.29 gears. Won't truly give you any more power but you will get the low end torque.
OK: Tune for the NA engine.
Superb: All of the options listed above.

Water/Methanol injection is used for knock prevention, not power creation. You take boost, and it creates more power, which increases the likelihood of bad explosion time and more heat. You can convert to and use E-85 if you can find it, or you can add a water/methanol kit to help mitigate risk.

You won't gain any real power from it alone, at least not without a silly stupid tune at the very least, and forced induction in the norm. Just go supercharge and blow up your engine like a normal person.

I think what the OP is suggesting is because the engine is capable of varying spark timing (and other things) based on knock detection that it might be possible to gain significant performance gains by reducing the chance of knock via fuel additives.

I’m guessing the effect is real but too small to bother with.

The only viable ways to increase engine output that I know of are a ECU tune and a super charger.

    It is that dude.

My only real burning question is, how can this guy afford to thrash nice vehicles to the point of salvage/destruction/government intervention? Nice vehicles plural?

I want that kind of thrash money.
