That's why if your going all out on high boost, timing and leaner afrs going to e85 is a lot better. Mileage sucks though. I could run 30psi, 24* timing at 12.2 afrs with the corn alcohol in my 4 banger mitsu.

The only thing that sucks about going to e85 is the stock ecu has no way to read the ethanol content. If you get a bad batch of e85 that is maybe only 70% or less, bad things happen.

That's winter blend not a bad batch. 70% ethanol is still awesome. Even if you ended up a bit lean it's still safer than gas under boost. Most ecus can adjust between 0-15% so if your fuel trims are good it can adjust for it. Also if your running e85 you should have a wbo2 and gauge to monitor. I've ran it for over 5 years multiple seasons without changing the tune. Just becomes hard to start in cold. And fuel mileage sucks.

I see. I just remember reading a few people having a less pleasant experience by getting bad e85. Maybe the ratio was way worse than 70%. But motors went kapow. I think it was speculated they were running aggressive pure e85 tunes and possible bad e85 from a station that maybe had a lot of water in their tanks from low usage of e85 at that location.

I would love to run e85 because I am pretty sure in california if you convert to e85 you don’t have to do emission testing. Not sure if that’s still a thing but would be very cool.

I believe most failures are due to preignition issues that can bend rods but that's at very high hp and pushing major fuel into the combustion chamber. Or if added to a motor carbon deposits that will create hot spots.

I ran it making 400whp on a fresh motor for many years without issue. But others have had bad experiences.

AND this is what a ported TRD supercharger sounds like.

ALOT LOUDER! Someone driving next to you will definitely know that’s not a stock Tacoma:)
And still screams down the road,
Got to love the supercharger sound.

So I've been having headaches with my truck cutting out. Usually at or just above 3k. Sometimes on quick throttle snaps. Sometimes steady pulls up the revs. P0103 came up on a tester. Cleared that but shortly after same issue. I'm running ovtune's 93 tune. Use 92 pup gas as that's the best I can get. Figured with meth spraying I should be good. Not sure. I removed the hydro sock I've had for a couple months. Didnt help. Today I switched my meth controller from a combo of EFI and boost to just boost. @rjbiii gave me that idea. As much as shit traffic allowed I romped on it with no headaches. Granted, no wot pulls. Highly frowned upon by the police. Not sure how much I changed what but its welcomed improvement. I replaced my maf sensor a couple months ago. Didnt seem to help at the time. I was advised to change it again but I think that's wasteful. Anyone know if you geek out the maf sensor too much its prone to premature failure? Curious. I was in contact with mat this morning about v-2. Let's hope I can get this soon and give reviews. I have the stuff to datalog but with an intermittent hiccup I wanted to wait. Forgot to email snow today about a coupon code. I'll do that tmrw.

Saw a delayed email from snow. For discount you need to call them.

Snow is now owned and operated by NX Express. They are probably trying to figure out policies and discounts since they just acquired them a month ago.

AEM has a failsafe device. Reviews on Summit for the AEM meth kit are good, but not good for the failsafe.

I opened up the inlet, smoothed the discharge port, and ported the lower intake manifold.
I have done this on three Tacoma's now.

This is how much I had removed on the top section of the TRD supercharger.
    ALOT

Supercharger now seems to respond faster, spools faster and at higher rpms its does not bog down anymore, has less air flow restrictions.
Instead it has a new bust of power on the higher rpm range. I thing I gained one pound of boost.

Have to dyno it to see the real results soon.

Supposedly there is not much to gain by porting the gen V blower. I dont know enough about supercharger port timing to go hogging it out like that.
Here is a before and after of my discharge port.

    After

So I didnt enlarge the discharge port, I only smoothed the edges.
