Always room for advancement. Maybe there's a stickier belt too?

Read this info on nozzle flow in a review I found:

Now, lets move onto the nozzle choices and why. I have the Snow Performance SHO pump at 220 psi, I am using a 100 ml/min in the primary port and a 175 ml/min in the secondary port as my “power nozzle”. The Snow Performance nozzles are rated at 60 psi, so a correction factor is needed. For those that like math, here is the equation you need to use to determine your new flow rate.

    NFR = OFR *SQRT(NDp/ODp)

NFR = the new flow rate at the new Dp pressure
OFR = the old known flow rate at the known old pressure Dp
NDp = the new Dp pressure
ODp = the old known Dp pressure

SQRT(NDp/ODp) is what is referred to as the “correction factor”. To make life easier, let me calculate many of the correction factors for you.

    120 psi = 1.32 correction factor
    150 psi = 1.51 correction factor
    180 psi = 1.66 correction factor
    220 psi = 1.85 correction factor
    245 psi = 1.96 correction factor
    270 psi = 2.07 correction factor

What this means is a 175 ml/min nozzle will flow 324ml/min (at 220 psi) and the 100 ml/min nozzle will flow 185 ml/min (at 220psi). That means on hard pulls I am injecting about 510 ml/min when the power nozzle is flowing.

    https://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=297336

Obviously some of the variables may differ resulting in different correction factors, but interesting nonetheless

Update- coupon code RACER2018 does work. You need to go to N/X and click on methanol injection, from there I'm told you can purchase and use the code. @JacksonTacoma, these are 300 psi pumps. Maybe I'm not understanding if I have adjustable pump pressures. Great job on the math, I'm confused a bit:thumbsup:

I just quoted the review, so those numbers are from the adjustable 270 psi pump they must have included in the kit at one time. The review is about 9 yrs old

I see. Believe they are all 300 psi now. If we want to go braided lines pumps with an fittings are 165.00 btw.

Im thinking that the pumps we have are running at less than 220psi. My pump says it draws 11amps @ 220psi. I used a 7.5 amp fuse in my wiring for my controller, and it hasn't blown, so im thinking normal psi is well below 220.. Just my observations though

Edit: 7.5 amps would equate to roughly 150psi (just doing proportions). Curious what the pump actually draws in amps when it's on full spray

Good point. I'm really not sure. I'm just learning as I go. I'm about to swap the nozzle and tank on my set up. Brrr. It's cold out.

Looks like 10% off. Will keep this in my back pocket.

So did NX just rebrand the Snow kits with their label or did they offer these kits prior to purchasing Snow? Looks like they only have the braided hose options on their site.

I'm not sure about that. Braided lines would be a nice way to go. I am pretty sure all meth kits out there run this same pump with their own stickers on them. Even BMW uses this same pump.

Going to use the washer tank. Free up some space under hood. Does it come out easy?

Yes comes out easy. My recommendation is to take the washer fluid hose off right before the first "T" fitting on the bottom of the hood (right before the first spray nozzle), and then get a gallon jug and drain the fluid out of the reservoir using the windshield washer fluid pump. Then all you have to do is remove two 10mm bolts, unplug the electrical connector that plugs into the reservoir pump(near the bottom on the front), and then slowly lift up the tank. I say slowly because the washer fluid hose will still be connected on the bottom. remove that, and then it should be removed completely. The washer fluid hose goes into the bottom of the tank, and that is why I recommend draining it using the pump, because as soon as you unplug the hose on the bottom of the reservoir, if there's any fluid in there, it's going to start draining out. Let me know if you run into any hiccups. I removed mine about 10 times during my install. It's really a piece of cake once you figure out the best way to do it

Also, another thing I did (probably not necessary), but after I had the reservoir removed, I plugged in an air compressor (to the line you disconnected from the reservoir) and blew out the lines going to the windshield spray nozzles. I only did this because I knew there was some washer fluid (not the -30* stuff) in the tubes, and I didn't want any of it draining back into the reservoir and mixing with the boost juice. Probably not an issue if you have the -30 fluid up where you're at

Safe bet. This stuff is -20. All good. Done with that. Nozzle swap now.
