I want to get my exhaust on. Waiting to find someone to help with my headers. My custom y-pipe will be ready in a month.

Group buy for killer chiller? It’s a great idea for a kit. Just seems like some reviews mostly tundra owners say it’s not worth the money.

That would be awesome. My problem is I cant wrench where I live. A second set of hands would be great too. If you have a place to do it I'll bring some cash and whatever else.

For you guys that want more than screen shots this is available at snow performance's website. I found the history interesting. Sounds like this maf controller could probably be used for the 7th injector. @loginfailed how did you find out which MAF wire is spliced for the controller?

He sent me a wiring diagram. I had the wrong wire at first. I asked snow about running a 7th on it. They said in theory it might work. Nobody has tried.

I dug through the Taco wiring diagrams which I found here:
    http://www.customtacos.com/tech.old/files/05FSM/repair.html

As you know, the MAF is actually both an air flow meter and an intake air temperature sensor in one assembly. So we just have to figure out which wires are for what. Looking here we see:
    https://www.customtacos.com/tech.ol.../06toyrm/06toypdf/06rmsrc/rm2006ta/005007.pdf
For the Mass Air Flow Meter, it says:
    VG (E4-30) - E2G (E4-29) R-Y - R-W (<--wire colors)
For the Intake Air Temperature Sensor, it says:
    THA (E4-22) - E2 (E4-28) R-L - BR (<--wire colors)

If we look here we see:
    https://www.customtacos.com/tech.ol...06toyrm/06toypdf/06rmsrc/rm2006ta/0050017.pdf
Pin 1 is labeled "B+". Spec is 9v-14v with ignition on. Basically a power wire.
    Pin 2 is labeled E2G
    Pin 3 is labeled VG

Then if we look here we see:
    https://www.customtacos.com/tech.ol...06toyrm/06toypdf/06rmsrc/rm2006ta/0050019.pdf
    Pin 4 is labeled THA
    Pin 5 is labeled E2

So now we know Pin 1 is power, Pins 4 & 5 are for intake temp. So we've eliminated all but pins 2 & 3. But there is a very big hint in the following picture. See the little black arrow (highlighted with my fancy blue arrow)? Any time you see that on a sensor diagram, you follow the opposite direction of that black arrow (highlighted by my fancy green arrows) and that is the OUTPUT (Pin 3).

I was checking that controller out. It’s pretty much the same as the AEM. Probably will work fine with the 7th injector. Curious what the spray looks like on a number 2 nozzle from say 3000rpms to redline.

True. I guess the easiest way would be if I had a second intake section and leave the nozzle section off and rev it up.

No I don’t have one. @White lightning boosted was working out his install and I was helping because I’m a nerd. I may add a meth kit to mine at some point, though.

@GT7 picked up an AEM. Not sure if his is installed yet.

Whats up guys. This is awesome, I was following your posts in another thread when you decided to start this one up. I'm gonna follow here too. Thanks for posting all the pics and detailing your setups (and the humor)

I'm looking to boost soon in the future and trying to sort out my build. I really want to hold out for the enormous whipple URD is making fit on their FJs and 4Rs, they say it's just a matter of time before they make a version for the taco.

Tuning I'm unsure....UCON would seem the easiest route especially if I use the whipple. Expensive though. I'll be at least 10K in the hole with the whipple/UCON combo.

Have you guys run this on an N/A 4.0 before? I'd be interested in running a simple setup with maybe a cheap tuning option for a little while as I save up for a big boost build later down the road in a year or so.

Thank you and welcome! The whipple sounds fun too. I might need to get one as well. I dont have many answers to a n/a with this. I would contact snow performance and see what they say. I assume with a wild n/a build it may help. However it would be a more practical step to educate, and save money. Then when you get close to a big purchase you are ready.

Agreed yeah. I'm gonna continue to plan out the build and just sock money away into a savings account in the meantime. URD is gonna be a while making that whipple setup I think..

So is there a way to wire this in without splicing into the factory harness? (ie a way to make it 100% reversible?)

Been considering this more and more lately, but really hate to cut the factory wiring..
