Tried rattle can plastic and vinyl paint and it had a weird reaction and cracked. Had a body shop spray it with auto paint and it's holding up well.

Good on you. I never liked the textured silver radio surround. It threw too much glare at me so I opted for the Metra black to defeat that. Also thinking of doing a matte black hood decal around the scoop for the same reason.

Where do you buy the Metra kit? I see the Scosche kit everywhere but can only find the metra kit in black.

The picture is blurry.. so it doesn't look textured. But it is the textured metra. It fits good and doesn't rattle, and i have subs that rattle the entire car like crazy.

And that is the same headunit that you have..

I have a double din JVC Nav unit and I installed the Metra. The texture looks good IMO and the quality is top notch. I owned a Car Stereo shop for three years and thats the Only kits I sold.( Metra) Great company

    Thanks for the links!

I ordered my Pioneer AVIC z120bt through crutchfield so i ordered the dash kit from them too. It doesnt say that it is "Metra" but it is has the same part number. I hope it is the same. Here's the link....

Oh yeah.......and Crutchfield matched Sonic Electronix price on the Pioneer unit, ipod cable and steering wheel control interface too. Got everything for $1078. Saved over $300 off of Crutchfield's original price and I will be getting a $100 rebate. :D:D:D:D
