MINNEAPOLIS — A storm that spanned parts of eight states continued to dump heavy snow in the upper Midwest on Sunday, collapsing the Metrodome in Minneapolis and forcing numerous road closures.

The storm was moving eastward a day after it dumped 20 inches of snow in some places. A Sunday NFL football game between the New York Giants and the Minnesota Vikings had already been pushed to Monday because the Giants couldn't get to Minneapolis to play when the inflatable Metrodome collapsed Sunday. It's uncertain when that game will now be played.

I read it was the roof that collapsed not the whole dome. Either way, that's a lot of snow!

Been out side snowblowing 16" we just got and the high today is going to be +2 with -30 windchill and I just heard the plow go by my driveway :(

Vikings need a new place instead of the big inflatable toilet they have now.

as a packer fan living in minneapolis, this was the best news of the morning. Not only did the ugliest stadium in the history of sports have a partial cave in, but the vikings game is cancelled and they are showing packers/lions instead

If I remember it's not the first time it's happened and I think the Pontiac Silverdome and the ex Hoosier Dome collapsed once or twice also.
