I would not stress out about your tacos being built in Mexico. I know someone who employs several mexicans and says that they are the absolute best workers you could ever get. Always on time, never no bull shit, and do everything that they are told without any complaining. Absolutely no drama. He started out paying them rather low wages, but has since increased their wages rather handsomely in fear of losing them.

And just for the record, my taco was also made in Mexico.

I have heard rumors that most of the chipping paint issues come from this plant- Though I have no proof. My SS seems to chip very easily. Not just A-pillars- How do you chip driver's door and tailgate?

2010 4WD DC OFF ROAD built at Toyota de Baja California!

This one is (so far) the best of the three Tacomas in comfort and drivability and nearly as trouble free as my '01 was.

Baja is the reason I have a Tacoma... Ivan Stewart cemented Baja to Toyota by doing so well racing in Baja. TRD was born from Baja racing, so it is natural to have Baja be the birthplace of our new Tacomas!

The 2010 rear springs are stronger than they were in my '05. Still only 3 leaves in back, but they are stiffer and the back end no longer bottoms out like it did in my '05 Tacoma... which came from Freemont!

The plant in Baja California, Mexico is east of Tijuana, along the (free) highway to Tecate... I passed by it a couple months ago... I should of pulled over and took some photos!

Just checled mine 2011 4x4 DC TRD Sport w/JBL. And it was from south of the border. Not so sure this is a bad thing. In my job I work with a mixture of Americans and we also have our temps which are mostly mexican. This is a production facility and as bad as I hate to say this, my American co-workers are spoiled! The temps, (mostly mexican) want and are worried about keeping their jobs. Aside from the language barrier, I would take the temps over the full timers every day. The full timers, well they dont think they will go anywhere so they do not put forth the effort and are not near as hard of workers. On the assembly lines, the temps when they come back from break, most are on the line ready to go, the full timers, well they tend to sit an extra minute or two then drag back to work. As for the quality of work though is up in the air. The full timers do know the jobs better since they have done them for many years. The temps are on a one year of service basis. So they are trained and by the time the year is up we start over again. So Im not sure how things are ran in Mexico, but here in America from my vantage point, it doesn't look to be that big of a deal. And by the way my Company is a Japanese company that shall remain nameless as I dont like giving out too much info on these forums.
