Mexico teen killed by US Border Patrol, anger high

Exactly. Here's the deal, as some of you stated, the border patrol agents are highly trained to deal with (almost) every situation, rockthrowing being one of them. The officers realize that once they decide to use lethal force, they will be scrutinized, subpoenaed, investigated, maybe lose their job etc.yet, they still decide it was necessary to fire their weapon? Totally justified IMO, they are not stupid. I also think that part of the problem is illegals know that there are strict laws regarding what the border patrol is allowed to do to them. which is almost nothing, and they therefore think they can get away with anything unpunished....

 

My friend who is in the army told me that even in the face of immediate danger, i.e, a kid with a gun pointed at him, he still needs to go through 4 stages of hierarchy communication to be able to shoot.......wtf is that?

 

Your friend is wrong, the ROE or rules of engagment in theatre right now state that you are able to use deadly force if the command is given by the commander, or if your life, assets, or personnel feel threatened.

 

That dudes got some good aim to tag the kid in the face. Least border patrol gets some good training.

 

Hard to feel sorry for an illegal getting shot for trying to break into our country and then putting an officer's life in danger in the process.

They paint a picture as if this was a little boy playing by the river. When in reality it was just as easily a 15 year old young man covered in tatoo's trying to cross the border to meet up with his fellow gang members.. Sad but true

 

I just woke up and am a little suprised at how many posts there are in 7 hours. To all of you "shoot to wound" and Rubber Bullets people, The US doesnt work like that. That stuff you see about a cop shooting a bad guy in the arm while he has a knife to a kids throat is total BS. When you are trained in the use of deadly force, you shoot at the largest target possible: Usually center mass on the torso. If a head is all you have to aim at, so be it. Also, you shoot to stop the threat. NOT TO KILL, even though that is in what in all likleyhood will happen. Rubber bullets piss people off, I speak from experience of being on both sides of them. Look at the riots in Mexico, Gaza...etc. Sure they hurt, but often enough, they are not incapacitating rounds. The French tried the shoot to wound idea, it failed them miserably. I am going to hold off on posting my thoughts on this untill I talk with some ICE agents here and gain some more insight.

To me the agent was in the right. The kid got shot in the head yes, but the agent was having rocks thrown at him so that means he could have be aiming at a shoulder and got hit with a rock an his aim got off. When you plan to do something illegal and not even own your own soil be ready for the punishment. Remember about the American guy in Singapore the spray painted cars. He got locked up, caned, and prolly raped(speculation). That wasnt even harming an official over there. I am happy we have our agent and I stand behind them.

Then the officer was justified in pulling his weapon on you. You said all bets were off his job is to protect the public, in your case you were the threat. Be glad he wasn't thinking like you, then you would have been shot. How many families did you put in jeopardy before he offended you by pulling you over and pointing a gun at you?

People have been using "Slings" to throw rocks that kill quite effectively for centuries and in Palestine "children" still use them to throw rocks at Israeli soldiers with the intent to kill or maim them. It was a judgement call to open fire on the so called Child by the Border Patrolman,I trust his judgement he felt that it was a threat to him or his fellow officers,we werent there,how do we know what kind of pressure they were under.

 

Wow, really? This is the most ignorant post I ever read. Traveling at those speeds becomes a crime in most states. Your lucky you didn't go to jail that night as most do when stopped going that fast. Also traveling at that rate of speed at night how is the officer to know your not running from something. So if you pull a firearm on a cop and get killed will your family be up in arms saying you didn't deserve to die?
Not all cops are assholes. Hell I got stopped at a checkpoint the other night. Greeted the officer with a Good Evening. He asked for my license and I handed it to him along with my Conceal Carry Permit and told him I had a loaded .45 in my center console. He jokingly responded with "Well, your CCW would be invalid if you didn't" He checked my tags handed all my paperwork back and said Thank you for giving him a heads up on the weapon and sent me on my way. I always laugh at guys who treat cops like dicks when stopped and than act surprised when the cop is a dick back.

One randomly thrown rock, or well placed rock, to the face of the officer and he will be blinded for life, need facial reconstruction, or worse. Is it really that hard to get a stamp and walk through the gates like a normal human being? He was doing something illegal and throwing rocks at agents didn't help his cause.

#1 Officers are not trained at head shots. A Head shot is an extremly difficult thing to accomplish, especially when you are involved in an altercation. The border patrol officer was protecting himself, and his country from a potentially deadly act. Good props for the border partol officer. I recommend everybody look up "harsh laws" on you tube. I can't post it here at work, but its a very good video.

 

I agree 100% with you. First, they were wrong for trying to enter the US and second, they shouldn't hav thrown rocks at the agents. Rocks may seem harmless to people, but they can cause severe injury.

 

They picked up the shell casing that was quoted as being found on the Mexican side of the border to frame up the agent to make it look like he went on Mexican side of the border when the opposite is what happened - Mexican officers went on US side and retrieved the casing. This is really moronic bullshit. Mexicans need to keep their ass on their side and quit inciting incidents. Just like has been said many many times, don't put yourself in the position. I see it as negligence on the parents part for not warning the kid about not hanging around the border or antagonizing the agents. Why with all the drug cartel action along the border have they not had that discussion with their children already to not fuck around down there? Their president can eat shit! It's fine to send all your folks over here to rob, pillage & plunder from the US and do whatever crimes they want while they're here over and over and over thousandfold but as soon as a few dumbasses get caught up in their own stupidity & us enforcing our laws in an effort to keep the shit from continuing then there's a problem all of a sudden.
