Nah not a fan. Although I don't really have anything against the GM truck other than the low hanging air damn on the front end of their 4x4 package and the uncomfortable seats.

5" nerf bars. Seat cover, locking gas cap, front windows tinted, front grill plastidipped.
My 2010 Tacoma PreRunner had a repaint job done due to minor damage during or after the truck was delivered (and before I took the ownership). Dealer sales manager told me that they don't have to say anything if the damage is less than $1000 to repair. I ended up getting another truck when they try to make it right and they couldn't.

It's normal to have plastic parts appear different than metal parts surrounding them.

Plastic parts never match metal unfortunately.

That looks like different colors to me. There is a device car dealers use that can tell if a vehicle has been repainted. Looks like a stethoscope. I'd stop in a luxury dealer and see if the used car manager has one he would let you use on your truck. If it's been painted, you have a huge issue with the dealer that sold it to you. Dealer's wreck cars like the rest of us. Unfortunately, they aren't going to see it as used, most will fix it and sell it as new and not say a word. If it's truly been painted and does not match, it will cost you when you go to trade it in later.

It's called a paint thickness gauge.

Good luck using that on plastic bumper covers. Most dealers won't have the $1000+ ultrasonic version for plastic parts laying around for service writers to use on the whim.

I'm an auto estimator for an insurance company so we have one of these laying around and I measured it and it all matches in thickness I think it has something to with the way the metallic flake is laying.

That's crazy. Ford used to have a paint available on Cobra Mustangs called Mystic. Depending on the light and angle, the car would look green, black, purple, and others. It was cool, but not very pretty.

I can't tell if you are just trolling him/making fun of him re: the black plastic fender flares or if this is a legit comment about plastic bumper parts not matching the fender (which I dont notice at all in the pic he posted).

His front bumper cover was the part in question.. I'd assume he knows the black over flares don't match his Inferno paint..

I don't notice a difference in that pic, either.. but commented on the general idea that paint and steel don't look the same when painted.
